Tera >> GW2

Played the beta of GW2 last night while waiting for Tera head start...

Tera wins... hands down.

The only redeeming quality I found with GW2 was the questing system. It steers away from your typical "! or ?" over an NPCs head and actually makes you feel like you "find" quests as you move around the world. Of course there are quest chains and it does lead you where it needs to, but there's still a sense of "discovery" to it.

Aside from that, GW2 feels like an Aion cousin.

Tera's graphics, alone, blow GW2 out of the water.

Tera's combat system is more fun than any MMO I've ever played. GW2 is your typical "click and kill"

All in all, GW2 is way overhyped. I'm more and more impressed with Tera as I play the game.

What about the Open world PVP/RVR? Did you get to play any of that? If you did how was it? Thats the only thing that is pulling me to play GW2. As for combat. hands down TERA pwns IMO

Gw2 is free to play correct? That alone will draw people to it and the game itself is... whats the word... More forgiving than tera so more kiddies will head that way.

But i complexly agree with the Op =P

Yeah I still like the traditional tank/healer roles.

I'll still play GW2 though. But I'll be treating it more as a regular game than an MMO. Would still be good during Tera down times lol

I didn't play the beta but watched a lot of vids and most of it seemed like socialist antipathy made manifest in a video game. You don't work for skills, you start out with all the ones you're going to get, and gear doesn't have stats on it or something? Purely cosmetic? It's definitely sounding like a bizarro Tera.

EDIT: In Soviet Russia, GW2 plays you.

Yeah, it's F2P, so you're completely right. It will definitely pull a lot of people in with that, not to mention the diehard Guild Wars fans...

I'm just realizing that Tera has raised the bar so high (for me) that other MMOs have a lot of ground to make up.

I dont understand why everone thinks GW2 is like the return of Christ.

GW2 is same tab target clone which has spawned from many years of one game cloning the next. If I wanted that I would just play the best tab target MMO...WoW...

Isn't the MMO market ready for a change?

After playing Tera I can honeslty never see myself playing another tab-target MMO again.

I have played to many MMOs to name...

None of these game seem to break that mold. After 7years of WoW raiding and PvP'n endgame I was ready to give up. Then I came across Tera and was simple blow away.

The game really does break the mold. I cant say enough good things about this game.

I mean MMOs are my genre. If you are like me and wanting something more out of a MMO I would at the very least TRY Tera. I just dont see GW2 being anything special, it will NEVER live up to the hype. SWTOR much? GW1 was terribad. I love how people are all like "The only thing thats the same is the name". Well then [filtered], they should have named it something different. Because the GW name alone makes me want to walk away from the game.

Just expressing my opinions.

So whats so ground breaking about a quest system that tells you to kill 10 rats from one that you wonder into an area that tells you to kill 10 rats?
