Tera Launcher Required?

So I was having some issues with freezing up, so I closed the TERA launcher while I had the game client open. I was still able to play for a couple hours, and when I closed the game, I got an error telling me the launcher is required to play and to leave it open.

Why is it required, exactly? Not questioning rules so much as technical details.

I'm not sure, but I've never seen any adverse effects from not keeping the launcher open. I often have to close it and re-open so that I can run my two accounts simultaneously and haven't run into problems, though I do get the weird error message after I exit TERA.

I'm not sure what's up with that.

The launcher is not required, when I played this game I would close it every time. You won't see any adverse effects on your game (other than that little error message).

My assumption is the error message is the result of exiting the game, they probably try to close all processes associated with TerA and get to the launcher - which isn't open- and that returns an error.

Bottom line; just close it, waste of minimal resources and space.
