I laughed when you mention the Elin's because it was the exact same thing that happened to me. When I told my friends about the game when I was playing the beta and told them I was playing a little girl they were just like ...
People don't really take the time to understand something most of the time. They see what it looks like on the surface, but they don't really take the time to understand it. On the surface, TERA has a very defined look. I don't think anyone would argue the sex appeal most of the characters rock, or the skimpy outfits, or what have you. So when you add what appears to be little girls to the mix of a sleek and unashamedly sexy look, people become very bothered.
But the Elin race are not little girls. They are hundreds of years old. I think if you were hundreds of years old you could decide what you wanted to wear in the morning. And personally, I don't really care, as I don't play Elin classes. People can throw tantrums about them all day, they aren't my thing. But I know the snark stems from a lack of understanding, and an assumption of something much more vile going on than is actually intended.
Hey look more Elin hate. Nothing to see here moving on.
i'm just posting here because i apparently pwn according to your username
Yep more Elin hate... =( People play Elins for the same reason that OP freaked out about the Popori; apparently people can't like things that are cute unless they aren't human looking...
But, the vids reflect a lot of my opinions too. The combat is infinitely better in TERA than in GW2 and personally I like skill based PvP than a gimmicky "I need a reward for doing something" that many other games seem to present. I'm really not that interested in GW2's PvP because it's just more of the same old tab targeting.
GW2 needs to work on their controls and combat (tab targeting is... boring), TERA needs to work on questing and ensuring end game is addicting and can stand the test of time.
Like I posted in a comment on youtube; Playing TERA for the combat, GW2 for the world immersion.
