Tera can top WoW, here...

I have no issues with dungeon/hard mob gear being BoP. None whatsoever. It's worked in every MMO I've seen it used in and it rewards players for tackling difficult dungeons as opposed to just farming up gold and buying it.

It's also a knee to the groin against RMTers.

HOWEVER...

This is where Tera can be flat out better than WoW: when BoP items drop, ensure that that item is something SOMEONE in the party can ACTUALLY USE!!!

I can't stress enough how insanely annoying it is to do a dungeon run with 5 players, only to get to the end, kill the boss and realize that what the boss just dropped is little more than vendor/enchantment fodder (this was particularly bad in WoW raiding).

The game is PERFECTLY capable of being smart enough to KNOW that the boot it just dropped from the boss is already on the feet of the only two classes in the party that could've worn in.

All I ask is to make the boss drop something that SOMEONE in the party can use. Having a BoP piece of medium armor drop in a party with all cloth and heavy armor is the equivalent of the game TROLLING US!

Yes, dynamic loot table would be nice.

If someone is already wearing a pair of those boots, then they can use the additional pair to enchant them.

I would go along with a class check for BoP weapons drops, though.

True, but if you're trying to collect the items you want from a dungeon, you'll probably already outlevel it long before you get the drops you want.

And that's WITH dynamic loot tables in effect. Without? Forget it.

random drops are..... random.

seems silly to do that extra check when you could just as easily get nothing at all. are you being trolled then?

sell it to the vendor. at least then you get some gold out of it.

the last thing we need is another game that acts like a free gear dispenser. low drop rates are a pain but guaranteed gear is boring. whats so terrible about getting a small pile of gold at the end of the run for your troubles? why does everything have to be super useful all the time? is it cause its an "outdated" mechanic? MUST people get that pat on the head after every single run? why is this an issue?

people are constantly fighting RNG in games and i just dont understand, its part of what makes it interesting.

i have shat bricks when i finally got the gear i need in other games. it feels awesome. why must it be made easier in a game that throw gear at you like rain during a tropical storm?

So let me make sure I understand this correctly, you want to be able to go into a dungeon knowing full well that the item you want will drop?

Does that really sound fun, cuz to me if thats how the loot system worked I'd go find another game to play because that is the worst loot system I have ever heard of.

Secondly personally I think all you kids need to stop telling EM how to modify a Korean game to fit this "western" style gaming. I for one despise western games which is why I will be playing Tera and I truely hope they dont change a damn thing just to give it a western feel.

This game is not WoW (thank god) if you really want to play a game that feels like WoW then go play it and stop posting your dumbass "western" suggestions. I hate to act like a [filtered] but in all honesty your just tying to make 1 game into another.

After you run the same endgame dungeon 500 times and never see the piece you want drop, you'll see why Tera giving people less frustration would put it head and shoulders above WoW.

Also, WoW gives you a currency for doing dungeons, a currency that can be used to purchase gear. THAT is a gear dispenser.

Tera has no such system, meaning people are going to be pulling their damn hair out trying to get the gear they want.

Read the original post: I'd like the game to drop an item that SOMEONE in the party can use.

Every player has, what 8 gear slots? I just want the item that drops to be an upgrade for one of those slots in that party. That's still 40 slots if the SAME party runs through the same dungeon 40 times.

And odds are that you won't run the same dungeon 40 times with the same party.

Even WoW still has RNG bull-[filtered], bull-[filtered] which makes the game hideously frustrating to play.

If Tera can one-up that, why shouldn't it?

Retarded post #231835126. EME's goal is, as they stated a billion times, to WESTERNIZE the game. Yes it will do things similarly than WoW as the game progress further simply because that's what the larger western audience wants.

And if you're denying that you're a blind [filtered]

Dynamic loot tables are easily exploitable.
