Tera coulda been a contender...

I love the combat in this game to death. I truly do.

Each class is unique, varied and fun to play for different reasons. Tera gets extra points in my book for being the only MMO I've ever played that has gotten both the "glass" and "cannon" parts right of the sorcerer.

But all of those points are ruined by the endgame that basically boils down to a "smash and grab".

How much longevity is there really going to be in a system where people can pump RL money into the game and have their gear maxed out in around a month as a result?

It's so sad because Tera's combat is, above and beyond, the best I've ever seen in any MMO, to date.

All it will take, however, is another MMO with a similar combat system AND a better endgame and Tera will be forgotten inside of a week.

And giving PvP vanarch control on most of the best provinces? Seriously? The whole point of the political system was that you needed to keep services running and taxes reasonable in order to get into office. Now you're throwing the entire democratic process out the window?

Tera could've been something truly amazing, but it drips with squandered potential and a cash-in endgame that's a thinly-veiled pay 2 win system.

I used to be part of the "Tera Defense Force" myself, but it's become brilliantly clear that the goal of Tera is and always has been to sell chronoscrolls to players who are willing to P2W.

Yeah, no thanks...

You do realize someone has to buy that Chronoscrolls off the AH in order for you to get your gold, right?

Of course.

It doesn't change the fact that you can pump money into the game and max out everything in less than a week.

Being able to get the best gear in the game without ever having to actually set FOOT inside a dungeon at 60 is the definition of failure, IMO.

Except that is true even without chronoscrolls?

Any simple google seach for tera gold will show this to be true.

Except, the more money you pump into this game the less you'd get back would would inevitably become counter-productive. And I'd love to see someone that has maxed out Tier-13 in less than a week. By maxed out, I mean +12 and everything. In that time, you'd crash the Chronoscroll market.

That's not helping my opinion of the game any.

In fact, I find it disappointing that EME promised more BoP items and ultimately didn't deliver on any of it.

1) Players can get their t12 gear fairly easy w/o having to sell chronoscrolls. I leveled an alt and I managed to buy boots/gloves/weapon before I hit 60 with only its gold.

2) Players can only sell 2 chronoscrolls per week which = 3-5k . Players that do dungeons have a chance to get and sell their gear which chest/weapons = 3-7k for most.

3) T12 is not endgame gear. T13 crafted is as of right now. If you don't know that means they have to farm 300 fanesteel or get enough gold to buy 300. From what I have seen Fanesteel goes for 250g (haven't checked recent). With that number 300x250= 75,000 they would have to make. That means that they would have to wait between 15-25 weeks and spend $450-750 just to get a weapon. I am ok with that... if they are that stupid. That is also not calculating in enchanting or masterworking costs...

4) In no way would that effect my fun in a game as I have made the effort to join a guild of skilled players and if we pug someone in an instance (HMs) we will boot them if they do not show skill in their own class. That rarely happens... well the pugging part =P
