Tera in the Future?

What's end game like? Well, you run 2 dungeons 100x to get some gear. You enchant said gear and run the same 2 dungeons over but this time on hardmode (not much changes, mechanics are pretty much the same as in normal, so by this time it's very boring). When you've done that, you can sit around for the next 5ish hours, because that's about how much lockout time remains until you can repeat the above - over, and over, and over. All the while telling yourself that someday the crafting will get better, someday you'll get master glyphs, someday the pvp will have more purpose, someday the game will have more content than a F2P game.

The Doomsday preachers who come on and spew the filth hoping to get the community to crumble so they can get a game for free. The game has about the same thing another MMO has except with incredible combat which adds for fun questing and pvp. Stop bothering people.

None of those things indicate that SWtOR is not doing fine. MMOs are constantly losing customers. The rate is normal for an MMO a few months after release. There are no alarm bells from the company - only constant development and improvement. The only thing wrong is in the heads of subscribers or former subscribers.

Really?

So because the Marketing department at BioWare says everything is fine, even though there is clear evidence to the contrary, you drink it up like sweet Kool Aid.

LOL, ok

If there's clear evidence to the contary, present it and we can all draw the conclusion that SWtOR is not doing fine.

SWTOR is most definitely NOT doing fine, it is losing customers at a dizzying rate, and by the current state of the game and general frustration of the remaining customers, it is only going to get significantly worse for BioWare.

Well they have lost a crap ton of customers but at the same time the game had far more people buy it for the IP and Bioware then the actual content.

The game should begin to stabilize around 1 million I suspect.

However, Tera is MUCH worse off than SWTOR because EME does not have the rich history and massive fan base for Tera as BioWare has for their game. People will play SWTOR just for the love of the I.P. and the hope things improve... Tera does not have that luxury, and this game is in major big trouble if EME does not get off their collective asses and start communicating with the players and fixing their broken game.

1. Ya they do have the I.P. on their side.

2. Define communication? They could give us a road map of the next few months but I don't really see any extreme lack of communication.

They have said things people do not want to hear but what issues have they really been lacking on?

The combat system is a good idea and all the classes are fun to play, but after 40 or 50 levels even that gets stale when the game offers little else. The enjoyable classes is pretty much where the good news ends for EME because nearly every other decision on game mechanics and basic play have been horrible; combine that with the unfinished content, stupid quest sytem, idiotic crafting system, major bugs, broken features, boring endgame, and seeming indifference to the problems... Tera is on a fast track to MMO oblivion or F2P status, AT BEST, in NA.

- Quest system is fine. Could use more variety but it is otherwise your normal shtick there.
- Game mechanics and other gameplay are fine with the exception of not adding more runes into the system once they removed the eggs.
- BHS is the one for any unfinished content, EME has not enabled some yet.

This admittedly is where they could clarify. We know why Nexus is not in but the crafting quests and training is a bit confusing to lack.

- Crafting is just a tad difficult at 250 it does needs a little retuning.
- Not seen any major bugs yet.
- No broken features, unless you mean unimplemented one.
- Nexus not in yet. No extra fluff but that is a weakness of every new MMO even Rift that had probably the most robust endgame at launch.

Endgame sucks for a new MMO nothing really can be done IMO. I will be amazed when a game has a truly robust endgame within 2 years of launch.

- I don't see EME as indifferent to any of the above issues. They are (BHS that is) patching and fixing stuff. They are about Bliz speed on the issues I would say.

Rift bled subs initially and is still running. SWTOR in many ways is a lot like Rift.

Good launch
Lots of people joined thinking it was the next great MMO
Reality set in
Game was just missing the something special
Both will survive.

Unless you guys are blind as a bat, do you not see less people in various areas of the game world. Getting groups to do those stupid bam quests is frustrating. We were the first wave and had it easy. I see people leaving the game.

What comes down to, is the stale endgame that's no different than the rest. Constant gear grind, no housing, not enough fluff etc. The stupid holy trinity system isn't helping either, especially with GW2 and Secret World coming along. Ya I know, those games will suck and blah blah blah blah.

I love the action combat in this game and the awesome graphics. I do not want it to die out. I want lots of good things to happen. EME need to do better.

D3 is taking a toll on every game everywhere, will do so for a few weeks.
People are grasping at the chance to try and make money out of it, then it will die down as items end up overloaded everywhere with thousands of Hell runs taking place.
They will then will go back to what ever game they were playing.
