So many tears. For those that really want panties and not boyshorts on their Elin, just take 5 minutes to change them and stay quiet.
Missing the point.

I do hate any kind of censorship and it does suck knowing that KTera has different/original models so we feel we're entitled to the same thing (if against censorship and/or some loli fan). Bet EME wish Ktera Elin didn't have the panties in the first place so that none of this would have happened.
More likely the wish they never censored them. They went from no complaints to incessant complaints.

Let's see how it all plays out if Bluehole really does change the Elin stuff in Ktera to what we have now. I will have popcorn for myself and Visine ready for all those that will be crying.
If the Helen Lovejoys at EME can 'westernize' a game that's still in Korea, props to them. :D

Who said this is the case?

"Acceptable "statement: Evil western civilization is too immature and childish to handle scantily clad Elin.

"Unacceptable" Statement: Evil eastern civilization is too perverted and outlandish to better cover Elin.

Westernization is treated as a dirty word and appeal to western society is treated as a filthy act while Easternization and appeal to eastern society are treated as steps towards godliness.

Um, no. This is what I would term the vocal minority fallacy if it was up to me to name fallacies. What matters is what the majority of people who care/complain/quit over it think. Having a majority over the clueless casuals who, as you agree, don't even notice this is going on, is unnecessary.

I'm not sure I understand. If fifty people hate the change and quit, and 100 people don't mind the change and join up, EME is on the right track. They will always go with what gives them the best shot at success. The real question is why anyone bought the game in the first place if they didn't like the product being sold.

Just out of curiosity, what level is your character, Crumplecorn?

Congratulations TrueElin, you just sabotaged yourself by using an unsubstantiated souce (IE a post from a forum moderator on a FAN SITE) who even states "I could have sworn..." meaning that they aren't even sure themselves.

Um that was devpost from one of the original mods Kire.

Sorry you are so late to the party.

I'm not missing the point. I don't like censorship in any form but can't be blind to notice most of the complaints came from Elin fans that did not approve the change. Heck, even if the models were changed they should have done it properly. Anyways, I'm just going to stick to the show and continue playing my Elin in peace.

Ummm, I think that was what Tithus (a former manager here on the official forums) posted 1 year ago. That terafans account just keeps an eye out for moderator posts and reposts it there like with the WoW forum dev tracker.

The first describes restriction, the second, freedom.

Why would we want to treat both statements the same way?

This reminds me of a discussion of how asking for removal of censorship isn't censorship itself. Was that you?

I will credit you with that, I wasn't paying attention (busy trying not to die) when I read it however the point remains the same, even the mod himself said he was unsure. He believes one of his fellow staffers said it was going to be handled by Bluehole but that's called passing the buck, they knew people were unhappy and were looking for a scapegoat.

If the 100 merely don't mind, they'll join up either way. What matters isn't the people who are unaffected, it's those who will complain about one vs those who will complain about the other.

I'll add on the fact that that's the mindset of a VERY small minority, and back out for now cause I lol'd but I've spent enough time here, they obviously have a lot of time to spend arguing something that's not going to change and doesn't really affect anyone either way with it being such a tiny triviality. They'll counter anything, feel "godly" and yet the only way they would "win" is if EME agreed with thier 1%, which it doesn't seem to. They can fill up the forums all they want, maybe get a change, but probably not and if they unsub because of it, yay. EMEs profit margins won't be affected by it and as much as they whine I doubt they'll unsub because they know themselves it's a tiny irrelevant thing. Seacrest out.

Where are his 'facts' supported?

I'll start with
-"These textures were deemed unacceptable"
-"unacceptable for western audiences"
-"due to the western culture"
-"western culture's abundant need to overzealously control"
-"control what it determines as sensibilities"
-"determines as sensibilities"
-"sensibilities for everyone."

That's an awful large variety of claims to make in a conclusion without anything in the premise actually supporting any of those conclusions.
In fact, the conclusion: "These textures were deemed unacceptable for western audiences due to the western culture's abundant need to overzealously control what it determines as sensibilities for everyone." is quite literally completely irrelevant to the premise: "When TERA was first released in Korea, the game included rather scantily clad variations of all characters"

Do you have downs? Why else would they censor the game? Listing the same reason several different ways was pretty brilliant as well.

We are unbelievable prudes in the US, this is a fact.
