The Combat Alone won't keep a game going.

I really love this game. And I plan to play it till the servers shut down simply because this is the most fun I've had with combat in an MMORPG ever. The PVP is astounding and highly interesting, but most of the game is wholly uninteresting.

Besides the combat, I don't really feel anything about this game jumps out. It lacks the feeling of a fully fleshed out game. The combat is it's center piece, but the rest of the game feels rushed. It is really disappointing for me when one of the best combat systems to ever grace an MMORPG feels like it was tacted on to a F2P B rated game.

This is the first MMORPG to get combat right, but I don't think this game will be the one who revolutionizes the MMO industry. Hopefully future games will learn from it's examples.

Will keep playing and keep PKing, I just fear that this game will dwindle far too quickly and there won't be many people to have my epic GvG battles with anymore.

You've kinda invalidated your own point with this first sentence, the game will keep evolving to add content and it's got the combat system as a foundation to become great. Give it time, which you and many other players are clearly willing to do.

I think even after all the 'promised end game content' goes live it still wont be enough to keep the [filtered]ers from [filtered]ing.

To be fair, that statement is a sign of dedication and you should maybe read it as such and not jump on the fact that its all they want. A lot of gamers have higher bars they set for games. :)

One of the frustrating things is Tera is short on features, especially fleshed out one. And yet, it had more features, many of them very fleshed out, and yet EME decided to remove them because (they claim) early comments from the few involved in alpha-period testing gave them the impression that those features wouldn't be liked by a western audience. (sigh)

I think these removed features should be put back into the game.

They removed the boxes because lolsomeguy had a string of bad luck. The crystal economy is now [filtered] because of it

They removed the eggs because they wanted to promote people to use alchemy. They never fixed or finished alchemy in my opinion. The only real thing that was shared between the eggs and alchemy were a few potions.

I think it is time EME rolled back a few changes and let the current playerbase decide whether or not it is right for us, not a target audience.

It is incorrect to assume that the features that En Masse removed were all "fleshed out." You presume their purpose was how they functioned in the NA economy. It wasn't. Asian games tend to prefer more time sinks and grinders because of the style of how gamers in places like Japan and Korea actually play: They sit in cafés at pay terminals and crank out time between this and that, rather than pro-gaming on their own system.

This atmosphere provides the players' preferences for games with lots and lots of time sinks and grindy regions. They don't need to push to cap with diverse content, but rather can enjoy the game for the sake of literally doing the same thing again and again.

Boxes were a time sink, as was grinding for repeatables' eggs. The same is true for low drop-rate dungeons and bosses.

These features do not work for western players. So ... boxes and eggs are removed. Players in CBT did not like using the boxes because it only realistically favored a few people who perceived the value of these objects as useful, as they would transmute their Noblesse, Domineering and such crystals into generally more functional crystals. As if the sole function of these crystals in game are for the purpose of dumping into a box and gambling to see if your got anything, much less something better. Eggs would yield not just elixirs, but other things, although it was entirely random. Determining for some the outcome of this was a matter of grinding for more and more eggs. This wasn't always successful, and did not ensure an influx of elixirs, dust, etc. I does and would further reward grinding.

The only sure elements of these things in game were rewards for doing dungeons, BAMs, and alchemy.

Now, currently, I think there is a simple fix to many of these issues, and that's add eggs back into the game. But ... with a twist.

1. Eggs will drop off of BAMs, and only them. This will reduce the drops of non-egg drops.

2. Lucky, Destiny and Fortune Eggs come from TIERS of BAMs, not to be combined or whatnot. No more Lucky Egg I + Destiny Egg I = Fortune Egg I. Instead, BAMs in 20-34 areas will drop Luckys, 35-50 areas will drop Destinys, and 51-60 will drop Fortunes. This scales with the increased skill required for these areas in accordance with the material drops from these Eggs:

3. White Alkahest will drop only from Luckys, Refined Alkahest will drop only from Destinys, and Masterwork Alkahest will only drop from Fortunes. Similarly, rates of eggs dropping crystals will vary, depending on the rank of eggs: Luckys will drop Rhombs, Cabochons, and Hexages, with a low rate of appearance of Pentants; Destinys will drop Pentants at a higher rate than Luckys and also drop Concachs; Fortune will drop Concachs in relatively high numbers, and occassionally drop Cruces.

This continues to provide use of BAMs (and possibly dungeons) as a source for these items as in Korea, and promotes more dunegons and BAMs farmed. Not sure if it departs from the grindiness of the game. One thing I can say is that I am not sure this game will substantially depart from the grindiness that it is. Currently, this feature also affects reputation gaining and low, low loot drops in endgame dungeons.

The presence of tier 13 items ONLY in Balder's hardmode doesn't help anything whatsoever, a feature that needs to be fixed: All 60 hardmodes need to drop tier 13 items.

Depends if the end game content promised is actually worth it. As far as I heard in terms of Nexus, its just a zerg-fest. So I sort of crossed that one out. I'm hoping the battlegrounds will be promising.

Crafting needs to be worth while. Token gear needs to be made worth while. Quest gear needs to be nerfed so the other two can be worth while and easier to tune.

Player shops, I'm done that battle. Originally I found use for the shops but the only feature I miss from them is the ability to set them up to buy stuff.
