The "Great" Tera Server Merge.

Well, i looked around a bit. I noticed there are only about 900 replies on my server's forums "Arachnaea" while there are around 5,000+ on another place like "Basilisk Craig".

These number don't suprise me. Nor do they worry me, yet they seem to worry others. All over the internet you can find posts and blogs about Enmmasses secret "Disaster" how 10 Japanese servers now got merges into 3.

Why are peopel conerned? Just because merger of server might be necessary or seen as helpful to the community, DOES NOT MEAN, Tera is in some dire crisis. Now...

Almost every game before release over shoots it server capacity estimates. Even more to point is that people are biased. The reason A server liek Arachnaea is lower populated than a server like Valley of Titans is no sign of the games "Health" in any way shape or form. It merely shows that alot of people did some previous research, and got on the on the server they though would be the best because it had the most.

Yeah asses that maybe two of the very under populated servers maybe get merged? A Merge is not some sign of illness, it is a sign that the game company is taking all aspects into cinsideration and makes changes as needed. Besides, i don't see a down side...people are just. Negative..

People who post =/= people who have characters/play. Many people hate internet forums, and with good reason.

Server merges? Who said they were merging servers?

Doesn't worry me at all. Just because people aren't posting on the forums doesn't mean they aren't there, and PVPers love to boast about how cool they are on the forums so there are a lot more posts in the PVP servers. There are also more players on the PVP servers but I honestly don't see server merges as that bad of a thing as it gets more players on one server. If this game gets the hype it deserves it will boom. People who are saying TERA is a disaster are frankly nuts and don't know how to look at actual facts and probably get their information from MMOSITE.

Not only is it way too early to have any idea of what server populations will be after launch (I saw all servers reach High or Full over OBT), but your server is a PVP server and the other is a PVE server. I would expect there would be more posts on a Player vs Player forum than a Player vs Environment forum. No one goes to a forum to talk to the environment! :)

Maybe they were off playing the game instead of trolling the forums all weekend?

Well i actually played on Arachnaea. The decline in population was noticable. No one said NA was getting a Merge, yet. But who knows and with all the talk int he Asian gamer community. It seems likely.

Regardless of how you spin it, and I really had fun playing the game over the weekend, the fact that les than a year in the game is violently losing players both in Korea and Japan is a really bad sign.

Doesn't mean it's doomed here, because we know how "americans" like to waste money, but the momentum of something like that here would kill the game, save for a handful of people who will by then identify their reality with the game.

I haven't purchased the game yet, but have been tempted on several occasions, news like this, makes me recoil.

We have all been down this road before with these games, until people demand more, we will not get more. The combat is fun, but when limited to three day periods most things are fun. There really is no reason to believe this game is just another waste of time, and the precedent of its failure has already been set, twice.

Just the facts.
