There is no Cross-Level Play in Tera. Stop pretending there is.

Has everyone seen this?

http://tera.enmasse.com/news/posts/introducing-tera%E2%80%99s-guide-to-cross-level-play

Sometimes I dont know if EME is trying to insult our intelligence or if they are just that delusional. Tera does not allow for Cross-Level play, the game in fact works against it, and it annoys me to no end that EME is making these ridiculous claims instead of trying to actually provide for Cross-Level Play..

Yes! I would LOVE to see Cross-Level play!!!! In fact, some great ideas are comming out from GW2, where you have a mentoring system and can play and do quests with your friends and guildies at their level.

Tera on the other hand, not only does not it not have a mentoring system, but instead it severely penalises you from grouping with people from a different level. First of all the questline is so linear that does not allow for friends/guildies to quest together, and there is no system to help with that. Second, each Level is a big deal in Tera and you losse massive EXP if you are grouped with a higher level player. Wasnt there a thread a few days back that someone run out of quests to do before 60 because he spend most of time grouping with a higher level friend and therefore got little EXP?

To claim that Tera is Cross-Level friendly is ridiculous.
In fact, the things that the "guide" suggests to do with your Cross-Level buddies are retarded at best. No! I dont want a high-level to do BAMs with me and deprive me of all the EXP. No! I dont want to waste my friends/guidies time helping me out with not benefit to themselves. What I want is to actually PLAY and quest with my Cross-Level friends and guildies. Please stop pretending I can do it in this game, that just makes you sound delusional.

This ridiculous post reminds a different post a while ago about how you could use the "amazing" LFG tool to "quickly" put a group together. Lol. Yeah, the same useless LFG message board that has failed in every game that has ever included it? Sometimes i really wonder what the people at EME are smoking.

Seriously. Instead of making retarded posts, could EME PLEASE provide real solutions to the problems they mention.

YES! we all want to do Cross-Level Play with our friends/guildies. EME stop creating delusional posts and start creating game-tools to make it happen.

What's the point of offering legit cross-level play when it takes less than two weeks to reach level cap?

You could, instead, opt to beg them for a level lock, or whatever it is called, like in FFXI. So that there actually could be cross-level play. >_> But no, instead you harp and bash on them like no tomorrow...

You must be a pro, because it DOES NOT take me only two weeks to reach level cap (or anywhere near that lol).

Now now, lets all go craft some gear for our low level friends - it'll only take us... a couple weeks of farming runes to make anything they'd keep. No big deal, right?

The only `Cross-Level` play there is in this game is no-kill exp quest power leveling, which works pretty well actually, but it doesn't benefit the power leveler at all to do... not sure how they missed the whole concept of `mentor/sidekick` systems in these games.

They deserve to be harped on and bashed until they figure out how badly they screwed this up.
Level Locking, Mentoring and Sidekick systems are absolutely not a new concept.

This game has been out for nearly two years or something (localization isn't the same as fresh development btw, none of that `only a month crap`) and still they're missing out on a huge number of `obvious` features that should have/could have been tackled.

MMORPGs have been going strong for over a decade - there are so many examples for previous models of functional/good systems out there, that it's a crime of development to have completely ignored this facet in this games design.

So it was a slight exaggeration. My point is that the time it takes to get from level 1 to level 60 is still way too short to expect any real cross-level mechanics. If it took 6 months to reach cap, sure.

I do think it's pretty lame that they'd try to market helping lowbies as "cross-level" gaming though. That's pretty stupid.

It only takes less than two weeks to reach level cap if you actually play solidly for that time.

Those of us who have jobs take about a month for level cap.

Which IMO is still to little, but we'd also like to twink our alts because playing the while plot again is, honestly, boring. And yep, twinking is heavily discouraged by the game engine. I don't know why.

I have a job, and i would say that 2-3 weeks to hit 60 is about right
play 5 hours in the evening on weekdays, and a good amount on weekends.
[filtered] you can 1-30 in about 12 hours.
