What is the deference in the combat system between the two games? DCUO boasted action MMO combat but you still get hit by things that CLEARLY missed you by a mile. What's differen't in Tera?

I'll take a stab at this...
but to my knowledge Tera is true action combat, as in you have base stats and when you hit stuff, you hit [filtered] with a chance to crit etc etc.
DCUO is like a typical MMO that you have the same base stats, but other things go into it, dodge, hit, a chance to miss etc, there are stats that get in the way and behind the scenes, pretty sure TERA breaks all that.

DCUO isn't really True action combat, TERA requires full aiming, there are only a couple attacks in classes that have a lock-on. TERA combat is way better! :P

Um not quiet like that with DCUO.
DCUO was action combat where you had to dodge and such but there were things that just were not dodgeable because of lock on. It had the base idea of Tera but was way off.
With Tera there is lock on but not nearly as much as DCUO. DCUO actully had a lock on feature for everything so you never missed. Tera has a few lock on skills but when it comes down to it a lot of its action combat.
Truely hard to explain atleast for me. Put simply DCUO was a step in the right direction from other MMO's but messed it all up. Tera took the step and got it right.
Just wait till open beta and see for yourself lol

Can you tell I've given up trying? Yeah, I thought so.

DCUO has target lock, and auto face. Tera does not.
In Tera you hit someone in the back it hurts more. You can dodge a projectile coming at you by moving out of the way.
Also DCUO healing is pretty much all auto targeted. Tera's is manually targeted.
DCUO or Age of Conan are the most similar mmo combat systems to this that I have played. Tera seems to build on it more.
