This games needs more "fluff"!

Let's forget about the instances, end game, political system, etc., for a moment. What this game really needs is "fluff." All of those random fun things in a game that don't really add much progression or content wise, but add "fun".

1) Pets - If you put in collectible vanity pets, I can assure you that people will stick around JUST to collect them.

2) Mounts - *points to 1*

3) More variety to changing appearance. Let us cut and color our hair. Give us more freedom when it comes to changing how our gear and weapons look like.

A side note for Elin: Let us choose hair and ears/tail separately. Just because I want long hair, I shouldn't have to be a fox :-/

4) Masks/Headgear - I love the ones that you get through getting to 300 in gathering, but we need more. Once again, make it collectible and make us go out and get them through a grind/gathering/item store/etc.

5) Mini games - Even if it is a direct copy of another iPhone app, you dress it up in Tera, and people will play it. Why? I have no idea. If you added Tetris to Tera and then made it so you would get a pet, people would never leave.

Do not underestimate the power of "fluff". We are in the iPhone and Facebook App generation, random mindless but fun stuff grabs and holds attention just as much as deep complex instances and raids.

Lol I love all of these points, and have made them in other threads before as well! I absolutely agree with this. Love love love fluff in MMO's! Gives the game some charm. I absolutely loved the artifact system in Rift. Helped with money as well!

Favorable
Miniboom Lvl.60
Tempest Reach (PVE)
Elin Lancer
Partly agree but this could backfire. If they focus too much on the "fluff" the core of the game will be watered down like (insert massive mmo dominating the market here).

Of course there needs to be a balance, but at the moment there is like almost no "fluff".

At the moment, the game has very little core to begin with, so surrounding it with some apple might get people who are otherwise sitting in town bored or grinding reputation/dailies to feel like they have something to actually log in for, and in turn pay for the game every month.

I'd honestly love this game to work on a game card system, because from what I've seen at lv60, I wouldn't be playing this very much besides when content was added.

Kill 10 of each kumas around. Even the hard mode boss. Must get one of these days.

I agree with this post. I want fishing. And I want gear that is more styled to the western hemisphere. I can live without pets. Can't go turning this into WoW.. I'm sure none of us want that.

Mini games for the win!

It's too late for that.
The endgame is identically structured to WoW.
The combat can't change that.
Kind of sucks, because it turns it into a boredom simulator if you play the game regularly.
