Love the OP's suggestions. I agree with them all. I would like to add one as well. Fishing.

The rivers, streams, and oceans in this game are just gorgeous and it seems like such a waste that there's no reason at all to really pay attention to it. Just give me a reason to sit there and take in its beauty while I fish for hours with the ambient sounds of the forest or a nearby waterfall.

Ok... I'm ready. Hit me with the "too much like WoW" replies.

Let's forget about the instances, end game, political system, etc., for a moment. What this game really needs is "fluff." All of those random fun things in a game that don't really add much progression or content wise, but add "fun".

1) Pets - If you put in collectible vanity pets, I can assure you that people will stick around JUST to collect them.

2) Mounts - *points to 1*

3) More variety to changing appearance. Let us cut and color our hair. Give us more freedom when it comes to changing how our gear and weapons look like.

A side note for Elin: Let us choose hair and ears/tail separately. Just because I want long hair, I shouldn't have to be a fox :-/

4) Masks/Headgear - I love the ones that you get through getting to 300 in gathering, but we need more. Once again, make it collectible and make us go out and get them through a grind/gathering/item store/etc.

5) Mini games - Even if it is a direct copy of another iPhone app, you dress it up in Tera, and people will play it. Why? I have no idea. If you added Tetris to Tera and then made it so you would get a pet, people would never leave.

Do not underestimate the power of "fluff". We are in the iPhone and Facebook App generation, random mindless but fun stuff grabs and holds attention just as much as deep complex instances and raids.

I agree and have been also saying this game should have mini games.

Tavern + poker? play for gold?

Sometimes I just don't want to run instances farm or craft.. let me just chill.

Guys, mini games would get old fast and take more resources then they are worth to create (anyone do the Darkmoon Faire stuff in WoW prior to leaving?) However creating any kind of system where you can collect things should be encouraged. Pets, mounts, ect are always good time sinks. I think that's the phrase that should be used. Tera needs more time sinks (for when you aren't raiding and pvping).
Edited by: YouHadMeAtSword about 1 year ago - Reason: "Time sinks" is not a word. It's a phrase. Or concept. Or something. I just know it's more than one word.

Wait, Duels of the Planeswalkers, or Darkmoon Faire decks? Why can't I have more incentive to play TERA?

Tavern+gambling for gold that sounds like an awesome idea! I agree that the game does need more fluff

Couldn't agree more. Specifically, I want a reason to go explore every corner of the world. I'm an explorer at heart, and right now there's no reason to just pick a direction and see what's out there. It's either a questing area, or it's empty.

Something like Rift artifacts, or other collectibles, would be enough, though I'd like to see them go even further with the idea if they have the resources to do so.

Anyone miss Maple Story Jump quests?

I know that there are "jump quest like" places, but I was thinking that there be a reward at the end or an initial start quest to go there. I remember my friends and I used spend so much time hopping around trying our best to not fall and reach the top. It was funny because we could actually die if we fell from too high.

Don't mind if they are open world or closed instance, as long as a group of friends can fool around in there and have fun. It was a great way to pass time when we didn't feel like doing anything.

What said too, why not place special rewards in the corners of the world that are super hard to get to? Perhaps make it jump quest like where you have to skillfully run/jump/dodge to get there.
