I never said most US game companies aren't underhanded. Comparing a vanity shop to what Sony and EA did is a vast difference. There is gouging then there is outright corporate criminality and legislating against consumers product rights.

Well I want to see Tera gain a profit off their game, however they are going in the wrong direction, and causing loss of money, and consumers for themselves by the way they are doing it they spend like 5 minutes thinking about how to milk the cows or make profit then just stick it in the game without any community thought or idea to how we would respond to such as consumers.
The only problem I have with Tera is not the Vanity shop, my problem is that they charge me to recustomize my character, for example I am paying $15 a month I should get to recustomize my character in game for Free any time, not race or name change just choose different skins, hairs etc.
If they want to sell Extra skins, or design New Hairs, or even charge a one time fee for unlimited character customizations along with the extra released skins, content and packs/expansions I am fine with paying for such, I am just not fine with having to spend $40 a week if I so wanted to get the most experience out of my game.

U.S companies seem to be following what Foreign Companies started, blizzard was one of the First, and MicroTransactions that effect a players enjoyment just suck totally. Speaking about such another game like APB Reloaded for example, When Real Time Worlds used to run the game it was Great, but they made the same similar mistakes Tera did by installing punk buster without consent on peoples computers, broke their own agreement by not telling people, then closed down until Gamers First owned it, and when G1 got hold of the game they pretty much destroyed a great game all aside from the Aimbotters of course, The Cash Shop killed it. If I had control over that game the game would be making more profit than G1 is currently making and a lot more players but sadly G1 as a company are dumb, and don't listen to its consumers.
I have played MMO's for 13 years I have watched the Decline in the industry of MMO's and know exactly what is driving players aware from them and it is Management of these games they just don't seem to know how to run them anymore. I remember when MMO's were not always about Profit, but Fun for the players it seems that companies have just lost their touch.
As for you thinking I make criminal threats I just laughed I never mentioned one thing about attacking any servers although who knows when a server is going to get attacked, I do run some servers and services in a third party game even I get attacked by Griefers, but I grief them back, and throw up more security although pretty much all of them kids know to stay away from me, and we are not talking about things like hacking just Griefers using Scripts on a Sandbox game to grief others. Although you really never know when someone will actaully do that however if your servers are well protected speaking about such you should be safe, I have rarely been compromised on my computer speaking of such but only a couple of times with a rogue exploit immediately detected and removed before any damage was done, although a lot of game companies do have holes because I have had my accounts ripped off in other games and not due to keylogger and I do not use simple or reuse passwords across multiple services so I know it was their end. But out of over 100 different MMO's I have played for the most part all is well other than bad management of the companies which leads to their downfall.

Fallen Earth, Thet recently nerfed F2P accounts very bad 1 crafting slot, they allow clans to harassment other individuals, and dictators to control entire factions, now we got players leaving, and I was paying $30 a month for the max subscription in that game spent around $200 in a couple of months, and I just complained to the company and quit told them to shove it because of lack of customer service. * Now they are loosing people, refuse to listen or make changes or even try out what I have said because the griefers/trolls there favor the PVP there and like the ability to grief people who don't do their bidding.*
World OF Warcraft, Loss of members, and since Burning Crusade it has been on its decline like seriously they added CashShop items, started to change talent Trees, and make the story not make much sense WHY? Now they offered free level 80's to everyone I got 5 of them, and we can't see the decline hell my server is almost fully empty a lot of times.
Aion, It was doing pretty well or decent until they added CashShop items they started to loose customers I was one of them to drop out because they wanted $10 to change my appearance each time.
Vindictus, Another game that could have been great, but nexon got too greedy started to charge way too much they never listend to its players.
Fury Online would have been a great PVP MMORPG for the time it was released but lack of development it went bad they had to close down. It is sad that this happend, had they have had more money and resources they could have worked it out.
In general sometimes giving more, and making the right decisions = More Profit??? and more customers, and we all know it. If a player is having fun no matter if they change their characters appearance 100x a day, they are more likely to spend money making and buying even more customizations, or clothes/costumes from the shop if that is all they are selling, but the moment the company started to get greedy the get bad reputations posts and flamming starts not only on their own forums bout outside, Google Search Engine gets filled with Anti Tera posts, new people searching for the game to give it a try find a bunch of negative comments, and loss of more profit. Of course Enmasse has already made this mistake, so they will have to suffer if they do, however they can recover from the mistake but only time will tell if they make the right call to give us all in game content as it should be, and sell us optional skins. Hell if they actually give us customization in game 100% free I will buy at least a 6 month sub and some skins.

Actually I referred to Sony being criminal, not Hotz. Sony violated many countries copyright laws when determining how you use a physical product. I should have rephrased to saying "could be interpreted as a criminal threat by some legal experts" I apologize for that. I am not denying companies have holes hell a major certificate certification server had the root user password "12345" when it was reported in the news.

Well I do believe that sony was Criminal when they told Hotz what he could and couldn't do with his PS3 using a DMCA law because he modified the code and gave it out for others to download and patch their PS3's and then sony made a big deal over piracy we are doing it to stop piracy. Hotz never signed any agreement either he just walked into a store and bought the system. I honestly believe that game stores should provide to you agreements or something when you actually buy the game, or the box should say Agreement inside you must read manual and agree to play or something. * But hey speaking about such I will laugh when the PS4 gets cracked and sony rages over ps4 modders.*

Either way speaking about sony again they did loose like Over a Million Dollars I believe, some news sites say 3.2 Billion Dollars look at all that money, I seriously Wish I made a million Dollars right now because even with that type of money I could get license rights on some of these old 2D MMORPG companies, add some story quests to the game, and end up making enough money to pay the license back and make a bit of profit without ruining the fun for everyone something not a lot of people know how to do anymore as a company its all about big numbers and money, and this is the greed part I am seeing with Tera, but not only Tera a lot of other companies and I am not going to stick around and put money into them anymore either I quit totally.
It isn't because I can't afford to buy Cash Shop items, it is because I feel these features should be part of our game, I understand that Artwork, and development of art can take time and they deserve to get paid for it so I am willing to pay for the additional content, just not constantly have to pay to change my characters appearance.
I mean if I obtain new armor for example and I would rather have new looks on a character I would like the ability to change my looks without constantly spending $10 each change, I am also not a person who plays only one Character, I play them all, I don't really care about leveling super fast either I just enjoy the game.
After having to deal with all this I am considering even if I am not banned for so much debate over the issue of just going to TSW, or GW2 because of it. I already played TSW, it isn't the best MMO, I admit but it does offer a bit of actual feeling compared to Fallen Earth and has some neat aspects.
See I play League OF Legends sometimes quite a bit as well its F2P, and sometimes I end up spending $20 a month to unlock something, and they have a big developmetn company, they even ask people who are good art Art, and invite them to create new champions with them it is just a really great community something I have not seen any MMO companies do recently.
I mean if it takes 4 hours to create that render, then it wouldn't take more than a day for a professional developer to create a model of a staff skin in game, and put it out there for $9.99 they are already making a big profit even if just 4 people buy the staff for example well that is considering it only takes them like 4 hours to make it. That is $10 an hour more than average people make around my area on their jobs.
This is just stupid. I don't care about the cash shop, although I think the stuff is too expensive. But at no point did EME say or imply that there would not be a cash shop. Your complaint is BS.
