To all with low FPS bug

Hello, I was one of the many unlucky players who were experiencing the enormously frustrating bug which wouldn't let your hardware be used properly and the results were a game with poor FPS, even when the computer it was being run far exceeds the recommended requirements. I've tried many fixes and none worked, be it .ini tweaking or disabling cool n quiet, none worked. However, on one of my many tours to google looking for a ray of light that would make this problem go away, I came across a guy saying he fixed it by making some changes in his GPU's catalyst (I do believe the same changes can be applied to Nvidia, but that is just a guess, someone please fill in this gap). Those changes were basically:

AA -> uncheck the "use application's settings" box and leave AA to 4x, standard filter
AF -> uncheck it as well and also set it at 4x
Mosaic -> check Optimized AMD
Catalyst A.I. -> slide the bar all the way to the right and check "activate surface shape optimization" box
Wait for V-sync -> slide the bar all the way to the right
AA mode -> all the way to the right as well
OpenGL configurations -> check the "triple buffer" box

Althought its in portugues, I believe you can relate by looking at the images in case you have any doubt, this is what my configuration is looking like:

http://imageshack.us/f/16/tera3t.jpg/

And the final result was this http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/195/tera1p.jpg/

The graphic on the top shows the temperature, the one in the middle shows the GPU's activity and the last one shows fan speed, you can also note my GPU is overclocked. Before, my GPU's usage would stay as low as 35%, now its usually at 98-99%. Its an asus 6850 1gb ddr5 directCU for reference. My processor is a FX 8120 bulldozer and I have 2x4gb ddr3 1600mhz ram on dual channel. From choppy my Tera went to flawless after applying these changes and here I am sharing it (again, this was not my idea, I saw it in another forum but I can't recall which one).

Btw, my cool n quiet is set to on, I haven't made any change to bios except overclocking my processor just a little bit (3.1 -> 3.7 GHz) and my .ini file remains unaltered. Cheers and good luck, hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Hope things will be fixed for Nvidia owners as well. Right now game has gaps in fps: from steady 60-70+ to miserable 25+.

Funny thing: this can happen in the SAME location, which means: same amount of mobs, same background, same character, same npc amount, same players count (or none at all). Then things get back to normal, 70+ until the next gap. GPU usage jumps from 70% to 20-30% during fps drops.
Other games (BF3, Skyrim, ME3) run flawlessly, GPU is always busy at 90%.

Hell knows what`s going on. Waiting for the fix.

Does this only happen to a select ppl my XFX 6850 and 8gb ram and Phenom II x4 965 @ 3.4GHz
Run this game max settings great. AA too. Or does this like happen when you go to a certain area?

It happens a lot and we have several threads devoted to this FPS/GPU usage issue. Looks like some software issue, since people with i5 2500k and even 2600k processors can ecounter this problem.
The game runs on decent fps most of the time but FPS gaps here and there just ruin the game fun.

GPU usage does not always equal better fps, if you had 30-40% gpu usage its because your cpu is not giving enough data to your gpu to process.

you can up your gpu usage by enabling better AA or image quality, now Enabling SSAA (Super sample Anti Aliasing) thats a GPU killing option thats why your GPU is now at 95-99% the thing is when youll get to a point where you CPU can give you better FPS you wont get it cause your GPU is overtaxed with SSAA.

better to tweak tera video option to render less people, less details around you to give your cpu more room for you gpu

Glad I never had this issue, GPU always went at 98% efficiency for me. Will doing any of these settings improve performance anymore, but? Just wondering.
