Trash community

The endgame in this game is so [filtered]. Community is trash. Seriously, even worse than games like LoL.

Archers and berserkers excluded from all endgame groups, people bring along archers/zerkers for the trash/trash bosses then kick at the end boss, wasting ~1 hour of their time. Not just me. I've seen multiple people being treated like this.

I've never seen a game where one class (lancer) can basically ruin the game for so many other people.

Basically all priests, berserkers, and archers are pointless classes at endgame.

Endgame is running the same 2 dungeons over and over again, then running the hard modes (which are basically rehashes of the exact same instance) over and over one more time.

IGN's review came out the latest, and they gave it a 6.5 Guess why? The game is decent 1-59, and then both endgame and community becomes horrible, because the game just becomes a pointless grind. Once you play this game long enough, the flaws become exposed.

I initially bought a 6-month renewal for this game. I did this because I've usually enjoyed most mmo's I've played (DAOC, lineage, LoTRO, WoW, SW:TOR, and GW1) but this is now the first MMO that I've decided to just quit after just the 1 month trial period.

Grats to you if you picked slayer, mystic, lancer, or sorcerer. The game is probably (mildy) enjoyable, and you guys can continue grinding your dungeons 24/7 and pretend that this game's combat is revolutionary enough to put up with everything else that's wrong with this game.

Yet this game got a graphics rating of 8 and Diablo 3 got a graphics rating of 9. Bull[filtered]. Those graphics look like 2004. You can't spell ignorant without IGN.

The graphics are decent, but uninspired. Diablo art has some style, WoW had tons of style. The only thing this game tries to ride on is making their female avatars wear skimpy outfits with perfect bodies, to try to appeal to the mmo crowd.

Any company can spend loads to make their game look "good". What's different about other games is that they actually had artists who tried to create an interesting world instead of just filling it with boobs and unoptimized graphics engines.

Sometimes graphics is more than just the looks. Tera has great graphics but what I've noticed is all the truly epic scenery and cool looking things is just that.. background noise. It's all kind of look but don't touch. You fly in to a huge city like allamantheia but you can't even explore this huge city except for little designated zones.

Anyways, on the surface I think Tera looks AMAZING but when you try to scratch in deeper and peel away you'll notice there's not much to explore.. it's all painted over.. it's all background.

You compare the graphics in this game to a game like Skyrim where if you see something amazing off in the distance you can run to it. You can explore every house, every nook and cranny... it's not just something cool painted over the background.. it actually exists.. that's what Tera is lacking.

it's odd to see so many people QQ about the community... did you never bother to make a few friends? maybe join a guild? we have archers, and berzerkers in my guild and god knows, as a tank the damn zerker who hit 60 after me has his full enig set before me! stop using lfd tool? it's a fail concept. Always has been always will be. It's just a way for players to screw each other over. thats human nature. get some friends in game.

That's not the reason they gave it a 6.5 at all. You might try READING the review. Even though we've all acknowledged by now that they gave it a low score because EME couldn't pay them off. But I'm just saying. You didn't even read.

Also, heaven forbid you should bear with them while they work on balance, which they have expressed a lot of concern for. I play a Berserker too and I do so because I enjoy the style, not because I want to do more damage than other players.

I actually did read over the review. Every single complaint that reviewer brought up has also been brought up by the community on forums, but most of the fanboys just try to ignore it.

If this game didn't have action-oriented combat, what would you honestly rate it? 3 generic quest types, grindy pointless endgame, horribly optimized engine, and messed up class balance?

Lower than 6.5?

I'm a lancer

I love having zerkers and archers in my party

I have never kicked a player for trying their best, even if their best means dying 12 times

I have only kicked a player who suddenly stopped responding and haven't returned after 10 minutes and agreement with other party members.

Friend lancers you play with, the rare ones that decide to queue in public LFD and are nice... try to make friends with them. That relationship will go long way. I would love to keep queuing for public LFD parties to help counter the bad lancers that abuse the system. But I find myself in a lot of pre-mades with randoms who i befriended during my previous public runs. Hardly have time to do much random pug matches.

Well at this point I just have to assume that you've never once played an MMO within the first month.

In response to the fanboy comment, I wouldn't call defenders of the game Fanyboys, so much as I would call everyone attacking it spoiled children who want new content at any given time. Like honestly, I never saw anyone complaining in WoW about how there's nothing to do but stand around in Stormwind or Orgrimmar all day to the degree that the complaining on this forum reaches.

Also I've seen other, albeit few, kinds of quests, involving vehicles, subtlety, stuff like that. Given that this is only the third week since release, I'm assuming there will eventually be more.

Also, I don't NEED to rate this game without it's action oriented combat, because it has it and it's not going away.

Horribly optimized engine? That's about all the response this one deserves.
