Travel Time vs Glyphs, Unglyphing, Resetting Glyphs

A lot of games have been progressively making life a lot more easy in regards to specializing your character, making it so you can reset your specialization without having to blow a bunch of travel time in the process.

It seems like a way of the future in gaming, but here in Tera, we have a system that requires you to go to town, or to use a noticeably rare item in order to unglyph for a reset outside of town.

While this strikes me as `normal` for Tera to have things set up this way, I do however feel that EME/Bluehole can do better.

I would like to see Tera embrace the idea of being able to unglyph outside of town more strongly by making the `unglyph` item even more available than it currently is.

Please consider making the `Unglyph` item purchasable on Vanarch specialty vendors so that those whom with to avoid the travel time heading back to town are able to reset their skills more readily.

By adding this increased availability, you not only provide additional benefit to those in positions of vanarchy, but you also encourage players to be able to adapt to situations more spontaneously as they change between their preferred skill sets depending on the party dynamics they're engaged in.

As a side note, if `Unglyph` is made more available, a cooldown should be applied to this item in order to make sure that people are remaining `somewhat` thoughtful about their glyph selections.

----

TL;DR Version : Make the `Unglyph` item available on Vanarch Specialty Shops so that unnecessary travel time and delays do not have to take place. We're here to have fun, not to waste time and make everybody else wait on us.

I really like this idea. I would like to be able to quickly switch between a PVP and tanking glyph set fairly easily. As it is now, I just use tanking glyphs all the time, which may or may not account for how often I get beat in duels.

I'm glad it's the way it is

Except that we're not really getting any more creative in this case, except about how we optimize our travel time. Meanwhile, we're paying inflated prices for unglyph due to their unnecessary rareness.

Pray-tell, what exactly about this current system makes you feel `glad` compared to any other system - because as it stands, what you've said is an empty, thoughtless statement.

While I'm happy to play the way it is currently, I still feel that there is room for improvement.

My goal, is to make sure that this game competes with other games that are adapting away from time sinks instead of unneededly embracing them.

I suppose since they already allow gylph restets. They might as well let you do it with less time and money.

A "duel-spec" might be in order in this case (I hated the idea when it came out. But, in this case, it makes sence). Although, I prefer people put thought into what they do before they do it and stick with the decision. Instead of allowing swiches/resets so easly.

While it sounds nice. There's already an item that can do that. I combined 4 lucky II with destiny egg II and got "Unglyph" It can reset all glyps anywhere.

Ah, i see what you're getting at. I wouldn't mine more towns having a glyph reset, but I don't think the cost associated with it should change. (money sinks are there for a reason.) I don't think it should ever be something convenient enough for you to just switch on the fly without repercussions of some sort, and, at least at CBT levels, I don't really think it makes that big of a difference anyway.

I'm already thankful that there's no way you can screw your character 'build' up by speccing in something you shouldn't have.

I completely agree. Great post Tasho.

And as you have said.. and as I've said in many posts I've made on these forums.. The devs can do BETTER!
