Since Tera boasts great PVP and PVE, I would suggest at least a 2 spec system that you can toggle out of combat, just as easy as you can swap a piece of gear.
You may choose to not even do a PVE / PVP spec build, but maybe a DPS vs Tanking spec (for warriors) or something like that.
Having to pay cash, or use an item, or go to town, just to switch between PVP and PVE is kind of a let-down.
Other then this though, the glyph system is cool.
I see a request for convenience. We all have a recall spell (eventually) which should save immensely on time as is.
I would agree this is a good idea, though.
...If it weren't a pay-2-play MMO. The way the system is currently set up encourages some form of careful thought in how one glyphs. I don't see it changing for the sake of one's own convenience. If we thought of it, chances are they did too, especially if there are items in game that you can carry around with you to change your glyphs in the field.
I actually wouldn't mind having 2-3 glyph presets that you could toggle outside of combat. similar to the crystal presets.
I hate to say it but having to go to a capitol city to skill up / reset mastery's or talents is a system every game could do without. including tera , its an out of date system that only succeeds in wasting time that could be better spent on other things.
I mean cmon Bas Rutten breaks through walls talking about how out of date stuff is in other games and beats the hell out of people to get his point across yet having to travel back to valk to reset glyphs is more redundant than half the stuff he bashes on in those other games. Guess its time he smashed Eme or BHS's wall down and set some things strait.

The main reason why people need to change glyphs is because some glyphs are for pve and some glyphs are for pvp... DPS could get away with a specific setup more so then say a tank.. If I setup my glyphs for pve tanking... what good is this going to do me in pvp ? This is why its very anoying to have to continue to switch glyphs and fly back to town!!! especially for tanks.
On the contrary this is exactly why i don't think glyphs should be easily resettable. Instead of just being able to change them to your convenience you should think about your roles in PvE and PvP, how often you'll be doing each, who you're with and what your personal skills are, and do your glyphs accordingly. It allows for variation within the same class. And should you have to reset (new skill, GvG declared, etc) the option is there.
Yes I agree with OP, they should also make skills auto learn at level IMO seems these extra things are just money/time sinks. It just ads another NPC in attempt to make the overbearing and stupidly huge city and rooms seem "full of life", but it does not.
There are many solutions where the developers could get more creative if they really wanted these limitations. The quote out of limitation comes creativity, sure maybe the real world, but not in a controlled system.
Overall these things ad time/ money sinks/ and extra quest NPCs. The only creativity barely squeezing out of glyphs is the fact you have to choose which combinations you want. By that example shows some control is given up by the system to let the player choose. This is a dream world there is no reason we do not have perfect excuses to be able to do things without visiting an NPC. Why not just make it cost more to learn unless you goto the NPC then it cost normal if you still want money/time sinks, then at least we have more choices. Thanks.
Too much freedom leads to a grey vanilla flavoured paste that sometimes answers to the name "optimal". The best part of that grey paste is, everyone eats the exact same paste.
A few restrictions here and there aren't going to kill you.
