So I've been wondering about this for a while and decided to ask since I couldn't find it anywhere. Are there areas in TERA that we have to walk to or can we just fly everywhere? I know in WOW you had to walk places in order to quick travel there and I liked the adventure, but in some other games I know you can just fly anywhere from any city.
You can run and of course there are mounts. I have seen vids. with flight paths so It looks like flight to some places.
With the Pegasi, you can fly between major cities. As for campsites, checkpoints, or village-type places, I'm not sure.
You can fly to most areas (similar to gryphons and wyverns in WoW) also there are normal land mounts, and certain classes can summon group members to their location.
I assume you have to walk most of the time and unlock flight paths.Similarly with WoW. I'd doubt they'll have that much flight paths, the idea is that gamers appreciate the art of the game and not swoop past it most of the time.
You have to discover the place first, before you can fly there.
You in fact do NOT have to discover a town before you can fly there. I forgot where I read it but it was in an online interview. If I remember right once you get to a new zone all the flight paths are automatically unlocked for that zone.

There is nothing preventing you from doing so. I personally plan to travel around as much as possible and explore.
