USE THE MOTES!

It's surprising how many people I group with that don't use the mystic's motes, or rarely use them. They just sit there, staring at their cds or wtvr they're doing, eating all the hits from the boss/bam, getting the good ol' purple health bar and just continuing their dps waiting for a cleanse. Or maybe they're almost oom and there's a blue skittle right next to them, yet they just wander off scared or stand there like a derp. I really don't get it... People need to pay attention! This isn't WoW! lul...

Use your cures.

It has amazed me when I've run across Mystics who expect you to find, move to and use vitae motes to cure adverse effects, rather than casting the cure while you're continuing to dps.

On my slayer I love them skittles, though so far there's hardly been a case where I didn't get healed while running toward the red balls. I always feel so awkward when I pick them up anyway >_>

Join the club. Most annoying thing ever. Split right down the middle between
A) People who don't ever pick up any, even if they are dying.
B) People who gobble up every single one on the floor, when they're at full health - sometimes at the beginning of the boss fight.

I don't get it either. My best guess is - they figure we can heal them anyways, so why bother making any effort to pick them up. I sometimes wish it was the only way we could heal. :-/

Do you know that Mystics can't cure more than 2 people at once unless we glyph for it? So if 3 people are debuffed, one of you might die before I can do 2 sweeps. I drop motes right next to people. Hit "F". Motes aren't a Mystic's lazy way of healing, they ARE a way of healing. Lock on heals are limited too.

I should specify, I DO use my cure. I don't expect people to go for motes for initial cure. But again, locks are limited. Why stand there and die rather than hit 1 single key? TERA isn't the game for lazy DPS who just stand there and expect people to heal them through the stupidity they do. Half the times they are debuffed it's their own fault, heh.

Sera: Now that would go well.

Mystic: Eat the Mote! You're almost dead!
DPS: I am knocked down!
Mystic: Oh sh-
Dps: *dead*

Mystic: Eat the motes!
Tank: Ok! *He commences to run through half the room to pick up the balls, dragging the boss with him and the rest of the group, to eventually loose aggro*
Mystic: Oh sh-
DPS: *dead*

That was hilarious to envision.

Use your cures.

Sure, that's always the goal, but managing MP, aggro, and buffs means that sometimes a direct heal can't happen for a few seconds. If there's a mote there and you are below 60%, take it. Spamming the direct heal constantly will draw aggro from any trash, and a mystic running away from mobs is going to heal you even less.

More importantly, the balls remove status effects, and the range, targets, and timing of the direct cleanse is worse than the direct heal, so if you have something nasty, eat the ball rather than wait for the cleanse.

In guild groups we use Ventrilo and everyone works together to make sure people pick up the motes without worrying about who needs them.

That would indeed be hysterical Merle. Of course I realize it wouldn't be the most ideal setup ever. lol. I always knew I would have Priest and Mystic alts, and I also always knew that it would frustrate me playing a Mystic sometimes, but sometimes it gets to ya. My main is a Sorc, and I don't expect the healer to do anything, unless they have to. I like being proactive as DPS. I like being responsible for myself, and avoiding as much damage as I can. Just kind of a shame how many people don't do that at all.

It also needs to be said that in a lot of fights, trying to keep everyone cleansed all the time is impossible. Priority has to go to the tank, to healing HP, and to making sure you don't oom.
