Sera: Now that would go well.

Mystic: Eat the Mote! You're almost dead!
DPS: I am knocked down!
Mystic: Oh sh-
Dps: *dead*

Mystic: Eat the motes!
Tank: Ok! *He commences to run through half the room to pick up the balls, dragging the boss with him and the rest of the group, to eventually loose aggro*
Mystic: Oh sh-
DPS: *dead*

That was hilarious to envision.

This made me L-M-A-O.

normally I tend to use motes but why [filtered] bother when you already locked onto me?

Use your cures.

It has amazed me when I've run across Mystics who expect you to find, move to and use vitae motes to cure adverse effects, rather than casting the cure while you're continuing to dps.

Really dude? You know your job is to not get debuffed in the first place. It's people like you that make me not want to play my Mystic at all. Not to mention THAT THE RED BALLS CLEANSE AND THERE IS ONE RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR FEET PUSH THE [filtered] "F" KEY!

And you have the gall to call us lazy. The little red ball is a better cleanse than the lock on as it cleanses with EACH TICK.

I can't tell you how many times I have used the lock on cleanse just to have your health bar go purple as soon as I use it.

Go back to WoW if you just want to stand there and swing a way like a retarded 5 year old at a teaball game. The point of the game is ACTION COMBAT i.e. MOVING AROUND, not just standing in one place.

Haha exactly! One of the reasons why Priest was always my first-choice of healer, and why my Priest is higher, haha. There's so much charm to the Mystic otherwise though, that keeps pulling me in (I have 2 Mystics now, wtf, seriously). But I don't know if I can put up with the limited cleansing, the stupid MP cost of spamming buffs, and people who just won't use the damn balls properly very long-term - so I think Priest will remain my first healer that gets to 60. :p

It's not a matter of CAN'T, it's purely a matter of WON'T.

Here's how I can tell, and I see this all the time.

Big time fight, I screw up something dumb (because I'm human and the boss hates me). I get killed.

The remaining DPS and the tank then start to use the motes that I've dropped throughout the fight to cure themselves and heal themselves. In fact, they dont just use them....they use them WELL! They take just enough to get the job done knowing that the motes are, for the moment, a finite resource.

These are the exact same players that wouldn't touch a mote to, quite literally, save their own lives.

If you want to know why? I can very easily explain it.

Damage Meters

Before Damage Meters players learned to actually play the game. This included being responsible for not getting yourself killed.

After Damage Meters, some dopey players that didnt know how to properly use the tool, decided that the number was more important than learning to play well. Thus putting the pressure of playing well on the tanks, healers, and (when applicable) crowd control to make up for their failure.

After a while, that dopey mentality became more and more prevalant, and eventually it became the norm even without the damage meters to show the numbers. Thus, Bad DPS players are still running around forgetting that DEAD DPS is ZERO DPS.

B) People who gobble up every single one on the floor, when they're at full health - sometimes at the beginning of the boss fight.

Skittles are good for you thats why.

A true 'nice' player. Go ahead and eat what you need! Mystics have a backup Mana skill that allows them to fill up mana (it does a have cast time, but I haven't yet not been able to find time to use it)

I am very shy when it comes to the motes, even as a ranged class I only pick them up if they are available (and that is not always the case) and I actually need them. I prefer to leave the mana and health motes out for the Mystic to use to get mana and health back as needed.

After all a dead DPS is not the end of the fight, but a dead healer likely kills us all.
