So what will happen to our current Vanarchs?
They will be judged on how well they ruled the province, then be sent to King's Landing or the Wall depending on the judgment.
Just kidding. :)
There won't be any changes for the current vanarchs since the new changes this Friday will be for the new vanarch candidates who will be registering.
In before the flood of complaints about beneficial changes to the system! :D
So, your making it worse for a PvP server who want the feature and SLIGHTLY improving it for a PvE server who don't want it?
Hello?!?!?!? I am kind of thinking that the personnel over at EmE/BHS are just not understanding this whole Vanarchy deal.
Look at GvG contest on PvE servers! Clearly, it is not a wanted feature and let alone want it as part of the Vanarch system. I am apologetic that I must be the one to point this out to you, but the activity doesn't lie.
The only ones that are being judged here are the people over at EME that are clearly having trouble with the so called features.
Yay for trying to fix vanarch, but my question is:
When are you going to remove GVG for Vanarch on PVE? IMO that's the biggest issue atm concerning elections - other than the fact that I think there should be more incentive for guilds to run.
As mentioned, these are the plans we are working on for this summer and we will continue to monitor and change. :)
I really am trying to be a loyalist here with Tera.. The game overall has just amazing potential. They didn't start out with trying to through everything on the table and hoping for it to work like a multi-billion dollar budget game just a short 6 months ago.
I honestly believe that Bluehole Studio is in a great position here with Tera, the game was shipped with a lot of holes that needed to be filled. Though usually this would not be a good thing, in this case, at the start, it really felt like the holes were left to be filled as the player base dictated. Sure, forums are a place to get many ideas, more bad then good, but player activity is were the action is at!
They can see everything that goes on from minute to minute in the ways the players react to the game. Forums stated that GvG on a PvE servers would be a fantastic idea and in a way, it's meh, ok I guess. Clearly though, the activity of the players here are showing that it isn't popular enough to try and to force it upon the community at this time. I tried squid once, didn't like it, I moved on. Time to do that here with PvE server GvG Vanarch. Maybe once the Vanarchy system is improved or GvG becomes more active, can try it again? Who knows, maybe if they improve squid by stuffing it with bacon, wrapping it in bacon, bear battering it, and tossing it into a deep fryer, I may give it another go.. until I see those improvements.. I am ok without it.
Honestly Minea, what is left to monitor here? GvG is not as popular on PvE servers as I'm sure a very healthy amount of the population would have hoped. Many of us have come to accept this and move on waiting for the next thing.
I really am trying to understand what the thought processes are going forward. I just don't see it, I simply can not imagine that reducing the number of zones on a PvP server is going to go over too well, especially when those zones are not going to be the most profitable.
Many of us are sticking around through these band-aids but for a figure of speech, the wounds are starting to get infected. I really hope you have something huge up your sleeves (that sexy biker chick tattoo perhaps.. j/k) that your hiding for the NA market. For me, this is starting get tough to swallow, and I REALLY do enjoy the game and want to stick it out.
I appreciate you guys doing your best to keep on top of things and patching loopholes. However, might I make one suggestion?
Regardless of whether you're on a PVP or PVE server, the GVG Vanarch election is still exploitable. Granted, a 7-day cooldown for joining guilds makes it quite inconvenient, but it still doesn't fully remedy the situation that happened to my guild on Blightwood. That being every active member /gquitting to avoid GVG combat and that same guild getting the luck of the draw of being listed #1 when elections begin when only two people run for a GVG elected province. Their desired province was won without either side ever gaining even 1 point.
I suggest a system where members are prevented from leaving a guild when said guild has entered to run a GVG province. It should be the guild leaders responsibility to communicate to their guild of their plans allowing them enough time to leave before registering for such a province.
One other thought. A 7-day cooldown doesn't prevent the exploit of guilds farming themselves (such situations didn't happen on my server but I read about on others). I would assume the difficulty of preventing the farming of sister guilds to be quite great. But the frustration is equally as immense. Just wanted to put a spotlight on it and hope a solution is being actively sought.
