Any ingame mechanic to kill or remove a Vanarch other than voting? Like assassination or politics. Voting is simply a wasted popularity guild mechanic and not what the majority wants. We feel the player base would rather have an ingame mechanic to remove these voted in people either by killing them at an opportune time (alone), poisoning, such as through gifted potions or food products, or secret intrigue to remove them.
if not there needs to be something like this. Voting anyone in any position in a game is rather useless unless an ingame counter to it is available, and it would be much more fun in the long run.....anarchy always is......
Vanarch system killed this game for me.
Unique features like the Vanarch system are what make this game stand out. It offers a different level of gameplay that appeals to a certain type of player.
Not every player will find appeal with, say, PvP or crafting. The same can be said of lore, dungeons, nexuses or any other feature of the game.
Saying "Vanarchy does not appeal to me so remove it from the game" expresses an uneducated opinion. Suggesting to change the feature so it loses all its core elements is the same thing.
Find something you enjoy in this game but realize that different types of players enjoy different styles of gameplay. If you can't, video games are a multi-billion dollar industry so I'm sure you can find something you'll enjoy.
It's essentially become a popularity contest, and not one based on pvp or pve skill (which would be fine), but on how much you can troll trade or how big your guild is. I understand how it helps to form a community, but people are forced into it regardless of what they do and some people, life myself, prefer to play the game with a handful of people and be left alone. I cannot justify giving even 1% of what I earn to someone I don't know or care about. That said, the game mechanics are the best I've seen in any mmo I've played. I just hope this system changes so it's optional, or that another game follows Tera's mechanics and leaves vanarchs out.
But you were fine tossing 5% down the drain? I don't see the logic, in pretty much all zones prices went down from the standard 5% tax that was set before vanarchs were selected. I'm not sure I understand why having 1% go to a guild is so much worse.
I also like how the first post gives "politics" as an alternative to voting, I mean sheesh, what kind of backwards political system would have voting in it, that's crazytalk.
