So I am currently in queue to get into Tera and I noticed this since Thursday, for some reason the game ramps up the video card activity to 99% just in that waiting screen. This seems really really odd seeing as how literally nothing "visual" is actually going on.

Anyone else getting super hot temps on their cards in loading screen/game?

The main thing that I have noticed about the GPU this time around though is that Tera is actually USING it now. back in the closed betas, my GPU activity was barely at 30% and now it's at practically 100

I just got done playing for the night with my co worker and he mentioned the same thing. His 6870 card was running at about 75 degrees C and his GPU usage was at 90+

This is almost a direct indication that whatever EME/BH did in the weeks between CBT and OBT, the game is utilizing the GPU A LOT more than before. A lot of people wanted the GPU to be used more and honestly I see an improvement in FPS by a lot... But at the cost of extreme heat? I would like it if my GPU didn't die on me

Yah I do. My 560ti gets way hot running TERA even with excellent airflow. It rarely breaks 55 degrees celsius in other games, and pushes 90 in TERA even with only half utilization.

yes, I run a bit hot. Around 80C or so on a 5770. :\

I don't know what they did to the game from CBT to OBT because in OBT, my card never passed 70 degrees C and the activity was never more than about 30% but looking at my current activity and temp I'm just all double yu tee eff

My 580 sits at a cool 61 degrees while playing. You should run a bench on it like fur mark and see what temps you get with that.

Could be time for a spring cleaning if you haven't done so lately.

Also to the gent with the 5770 they don't start having stability problems until about 95 degrees or so.

My gf had her 9800gt give up the ghost today, after playing for about half an hour. We have been a part of every beta test since it all started. Granted its 3.5 years old, but it seems odd it would just up and die a very quick death.
