Good god... that video was a bit enlightening. I thought placement of these was more constricted than that...

Remove Pet stores and dont listen to these players which adores them so much. Pet stores brings more problems than benefit, thats simple fact. It looks like that all of you who loves pet stores so much is just some lame goldseller because I never saw someone complaining that much as you guys do here.

+ 1 for Pet shop removal !!!

I play Ktera for half year and I am telling you, pet stores only cause spam, laggs, it looks horrible and everyone uses AH anyways. So just SHUT UP already

The video and pic confirms my original stance. Remove them. I know I can shut them off in my UI, but this kind of stuff would chase away ANY new player upon entering Velika for the first time. They just flew in on their Pegasus, feeling like a badass, admiring the AMAZING view of the city. Then...BAM. There are 1,000 little toons spamming up the screen like a rabid virus. If I were on the fence about the game, and were especially leery about the Asian-gaming influence, I would shut it off immediately and ask for a refund. Atmosphere ruined.

Simple solution: OFFER ALL OF THE BENEFITS OF THE PET SHOP WITHIN A SEPARATE MENU.

Just make a separate tab in the "activities menu" called "player shops" or something. THIS WOULD BE PERFECT!

All these damn pet-shop toons would be reduced to a nice searchable menu akin to the LFG tab. You could buy a licences for the same price as the pet to put your own personal "Looking To Buy" or "Looking to Sell" shop in this scroll-able, searchable menu. I would restrict its use to "safe" areas, and near dungeons, etc. Just like a pet shop, with all its features, and NO spam. Imo, I think this would be better than the pet system. It would work for everyone.

A LFG menu for the shops. Any good?

No do not remove them...

Just teach everyone how to correctly use the UI filters.

BlueHole and EME and Frogster if you learn anything from this post it is your game completely lacks in the area of teaching people how to use the UI correctly... It takes along time to learn how to correctly use the filters and it takes along time to learn every filter in the game.

Instead of removing content you should have a way to teach the new player base as well as the veteran player base how to use the UI easier. Lets face it even the Chat UI is soooo freaking confusing until you mess with it over and over and over and over again.

We don't need new content to replace already polished content that has been around in Ktera since their release.

Anyone screaming for the removal of pets has only one argument and that argument isn't good enough. Wahhhhhh it looks terrible causes lag

The argument to keep them is much larger.

-Ability to sell your equip to pets who are buying... (this wouldn't work in the AH I could explain but there are many reasons just use common sense)

-Pets allow for you to sell things you wouldn't normally sell in the AH most people would just NPC crafting materials they get from drops.

-Pets allow no AH Fees

-Pets get rid of boredom... Bored waiting for group or waiting for friends guildies to log in shop around.

-Pets allow for some things to be cheaper. Quickly selling things again instead of NPCing them.

- Gives players who are getting screwed over on price fixxing another option to get the item they want without having to buy hugely inflated prices that always comes from the AH.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Most of all we haven't had the time or ability to play with these enough to even test them to see if they would work.
Most players have only had 1 weekend of even being able to mess around with them. Most of the players who are against them haven't even set up their pet yet.. How can you have a correct unbias opinion when you haven't even used it....
Don't get rid of pets based on players who
A) didn't know the UI filter existed until now.
B) never used them or even tested them..
C) They just saw clutter but that clutter could have been fixxed by getting them to another area and having them being set up elsewhere away from Brokers.
See... I knew this horrible truth about player shops from my Lineage 2 days. For those who say " it gives the game more atmosphere " I just shake my head in disappointment. It does NOT do that, see a bunch of cats in santa suits TOTALLY ruins any atmosphere the area your in gives. It looks retarded, decreases framerates, gives scammers their chance to screw people out of their hard earn currency, makes it harder to interact with NPCs you really need to use when they are covered by shops and etc the list goes on. There is no redeeming feature with these things stop trying to kid yourself that there is, The Koreans love them for the simple reason they love cute things and having more stuff to drop mindlessly into the world.
People also say " Just make people set there Ui yadda yadda blah blah..." NO WRONG you do not make people WORK for something that should be so simple and easy. Price inflation in AH.. HAHAHAHA HAVE YOU NOT SEEN WHAT SORT OF PRICES DROP IN PLAYER SHOPS!?
Keep on ranting about why we can use them go ahead because so far out every post I've seen so far that claims all these reasons why, non of them are either worth the trouble or just plain wrong.
+1 for removal but not because of what the OP has shown.
For me it isn't the problem of seeing 100s of pets right next to the bloody AH. It's the problem of people putting items on them that don't show up on the AH.
Sorry but I don't want to spend all [filtered] day looking through 1000 pet shops to see if I'm getting the best deal I can get.
/facepalm
This is exactly why I didn't say "majority". The options in the poll were very neutral in tone. Assuming what you say is true, it's perfectly reasonable to assume the result if you ask the overall playerbase would still remain a "significant percentage".
Rofl, I love how people use these sh*tty internet polls to decide what the "majority" of the player base want. Chances are good that the poll had about 200 max voters... was probably posted in a different forum and had answers biased towards the creator's own opinion. Hopefully EnMasse isn't wasting company resources by allowing their staff to view these "polls" while on the clock instead of wading through 12 pages of garbage to find the 4 or 5 posts that are well thought out and constructive (no matter which side of the line they're on) posts on a topic.
Now, my opinion on the player store matter. (and I'll try to stay from "speaking for the entire player base" which SO MANY people on this thread think that they have the right to do.)
I dislike the player pets with their messages over their heads they feel too "spammy" FOR ME. They're shut off when in cities and I never use them to purchase items because i personally prefer to have a searchable database of items for sale.
I feel that w/out player shops prices will remain competitive and consistent instead of varying by tens or maybe even thousands of gold.
On a side note*
Those comparing this player shop thing to the real world should seriously be shot or at a minimum use a proper analogy.
I want Item A in the real world.
I could see if the item is on Amazon
I could go to many shops that carry said item and hope that it's there for a decent price
OR I could go out into the world and kill repeatedly in hopes of attaining Item A myself.
^see comparing it to the real world doesn't work. It makes you look like you belong at the back of a short bus.
Then, quite frankly, you don't deserve the best deal that you can get.
I can completely understand why someone might not feel player shops are worth the additional hassle, and instead would rather limit their searches to an auction house.
But what I don't understand are players who think that just because they can't be bothered to spend the time taking advantage of an extra shopping tool, that nobody should have access to that shopping tool. It's like they don't want to be at a disadvantage just because they're not interested in doing the extra work. Isn't that how MMOs operate? Effort in = reward out?
Don't get me wrong, I run across elements in MMOs that I just can't be bothered to spend time on. In some cases it is simply a matter of not having the time, and less about how I would want to do. But in either of those cases I accept, even expect, that I will be missing out on something as the result of my choice or limited schedule. That's just how online worlds go.
Awesome video, I’m very happy they are getting rid of the stores. I was talking in a different post about the same thing
I don't care to be in Lineage 2 again.... what a mess.
(argument)
There's only 3 reasons someone would want to use player shops over the AH:
1. They're a goldseller who wants to advertise their website.
2. They want to sell something for atrocious prices and know that some idiot is more likely to do that on a personal store than the AH.
3. They want the ability to buy things when they're not around.
#3 is the only legitimate reason, and that can be solved by adding a WTB feature to the AH.
I still don't understand why people want shops, but also want everyone to turn off their ability to see them.
Maybe they like the feeling that there's a 1 in 50,000 chance that someone has bought their overpriced crap while they were away...
