Are you saying Vindictus does not have fluid gameplay, smooth mechanics, good handling, or crazy boss fights? I couldn't disagree more. In fact, I think in some of those areas it excels beyond Tera. However, I appreciate the open-world in Tera, which players never had in Vindictus.

I think they've done a good job at making use of their aging engine. Can you trick a boss monster in Tera into smashing a column, breaking it, and then heave chunks of that broken column at the boss monster to temporarily stun it? No, but you can do that in Vindictus. Each game has its strengths that make it appealing and its weaknesses that detract from it.

give and take. vindictus offers some nice things but at a high price.

party leader host the instance.
tiny room game
tons of loading screens
towns have 200 channels
said channels are to deal with the fact that you cant have too many people around or you crash
nexon
general lag issues
no open world
no competative pvp
hybrid class model (multiple classes but no trifecta. no real strategy just run in and look out for yourself)
nexon (mentioned twice because it has to be said that they are terrible at what they do)


dont get me wrong, TERA has issues of its own, but yeah, vindictus is nice and free. but too many problems.

dont remind me. i was really having fun with it too.

oh well. just have to be patient. TERA will be mine soon.

but yeah, nexon alone is enough reason to not play. ill never play a game run by them, no matter how good.

The fluidity of Vindictus are on par with FPS games like Modern Warfare.


$50 dollars can get you good gears but only luck gets your uber gears.
Real money in Vindictus only plays a dominant role as cosmetic factor.
Any veteran Vindictus play will agree.

But the biggest clue you would need to compare the two as far as gameplay mechanics, all you need to look at is Sorce engine vs. Unreal Engine 3. So much more can be done with the unreal egine over the aging source engine.


Tell me how Tera's usage of the Unreal Engine 3 is better.
Vindictus' implementation of Source far exceeds Tera's implementation of Unreal 3.




I started playing Vindictus just to past time while waiting for Tera. Now that I played both, I have serious doubts about subscribing to Tera.

cash shop only items that allows you to self-rez in the instance?

cash shop only potions that heal more than anything else in the game with less of a cooldown?

vindictus is good, but by god its the very damn bloody definition of a pay to win game.

pay to win like all hell.

unless they chanced something recently. i could be wrong, its been a long time.

the last thing i remember is gems that boots exp and drop rates that you can buy at the shop.

yeah. this game isnt P2W or anything.
edit- forgot to mention the boxes that they sell. or whatever they are, you open them up and get random high lvl weps that are already plused.

im gona go look it up again, gona take your word for it. but unless they turned their entire payment model upside down its pay-2-win like a mofo.

I had a 2 ticket sent back in nov about NX been stolen and i didn't recieve one of their event award even though i had proof i did the event. Ya... i'm still getting weekely automatic e-mail telling me they are working on it. Almost 4 freaken month...like really?

this will rez you in any instance, including raids. Full health. No ingame way to get it, only shop

same as above, but party revive. That’s right you can fully rez your entire party to full health after a wipe.
