WARRIORS HAVE OPTIONS?

I don't like the idea that warriors are the only class in the game that have a role option. If they have an option, the other classes should too, or at least some of the other classes. Or if the other classes don't have an option, warriors shouldn't either. It's only fair. I mean when warriors have block they're going to be living it up. They'll queue as tank to receive instant queues to make their lives much easier, and on top of that, when they pvp they can switch to a dps pvp build and rape some face. This is a great opportunity that a lancer will never experience. And I definitely don't like the idea of a dps warrior using dodge and block in pvp. Guess I'll just have to see for myself how OP it is when it comes out. The main point is though, they have an option, dps or tank. No other class has an option. That's pretty unbalanced. Anyone's thoughts on this?

How do you mean? Like, my Healer/Damager Zerker?

Warriors are unique because they get the ability to switch back and forth. Their skills make them incredibly skill-intensive, which means a great warrior is deserving of the praise he/she receives, not because the class itself is overpowered.

My sister's Mystic actually ran with me in our two-damagers, two-healers model for a rather fun NecroTomb run, in which she operated as a damage-dealer for the whole fight. We had a Warrior tank, and it was a blast. One doesn't need role switching to switch up how these classes operate in the game, one merely needs to not use the dungeon finder and run in a pre-made. That way, everyone's on the same page.

I'm pretty sure lancer rapes face regardless of it's dps output...you must not be geared at 60.

A good lancer will usually put a warrior in it's place, regardless if we have the "dps" or not.

Also you can form groups with guilds and try to have fun, we ran Fane of Kaprima with a Berserker tank once lmao.

I have also run the lower level instances without healers before, and without tanks, it's all possible, less efficient but more fun to be honest. Just don't wear your best crystals incase something goes wrong, which is almost inevitable haha.

well, the whole selling point of being a warrior was the dual role. its like complaining that priests can heal and lancers can tank... oh and whats up with archers having ranged attacks.

Besides if you hit and run on a lancer you will win as a warrior. It takes a while but they die pretty ez. tanky as hell and annoying pokes, but thats nothing staggering counter dosnt fix.

DEPLOY ARCHERTANK

Archers clearly tank by being flattened under the BAM's feet so much, the BAM is too distracted by trying to get archer bits out from in between its toes to pay attention to anyone else damaging it.

Gather 'round kids, let uncle Uchi tell you the story of why Warriors have options.

You see, a long, long time ago, Warriors were tanks. It said so in their skill description. It said so in their mechanics. But you see little boys and girls, people don't like to read. Instead, they saw the two swords that Warriors have and thought to themselves "OH BOY OH GOLLY OH GEE I'M GONNA PLAY A ROGUE!" despite all the little red flags that popped around them. These same little dimwitted folks yelled and complained about how they were cheated and how the class didn't live up to their expectations. During that time, good ol' grampa Bule Hole told them to shut the [filtered] up, because Warriors are tanks.

But the problem was, as tanks, Warriors were inferior to Lancers. You had to put in twice the amount of work as a Lancer, and still be less efficient to your party, because a Warrior dodges to avoid damage, and when you dodge you move. This forces the monsters Mr. Warrior is tanking to also move, pissing off everyone, including players who actually rolled a Warrior to tank. Too add insult to injury, Grandpa Blue Hole then released a few new dungeons, with bosses that were optimized for Lancer tanking, and were pretty much impossible for Warriors to tank ):

This made many Warriors angry. "How could we be tanks when only Lancers can do the dungeons?!" they said. "We can't even bring enough damage to come along as dps!" cried many. Grandpa Blue Hole being in a bind, decided that for the time being, they would buff up Warrior damage, so they could at least be a viable dps, something which most people who rolled Warrior wanted to do. Now Grandpa Blue Hole is working on making sure Warriors can tank. But now, the problem is, all the little dummies who rolled Warriors to be damage dealers can actually do damage, and therefore feel entitlement to their class and complain when they are not the top damage dealers. Instead of being tanks, they want to be a proper damage dealer, a role the class wasn't originally intended to fulfill. This irritates everyone. And so, Grandpa Blue Hole decided to [filtered] it, make them viable tanks as well and label the class a hybrid. After all, they can't take away the damage of class now. That would infuriate the droves of players who rolled a Warrior to become a SUPER LEET ROUG. And Warrior *still* can't tank, making all the crying justified.

And so boys and girls, the moral of the story is: Don't design a class around avoidance when you blatantly design instances with blocking in mind.
