If you're in a job you don't know when/if you're going to get paid, you should probably just enjoy the fact that you get to play a P2P MMO at all. If you don't get paid and they delete a few days of work, it'll suck, but you likely have bigger problems to focus on.

Not an option for me, if you knew how i treated my avatar's youd probably understand but very very few people treat their avatar's the way that I do.


Well, if that's the way you insist then I guess that's it for you then.

You had plenty of options:

* Play OB and hope you get paid before they wipe your character
* Play OB and remake if your character gets deleted
* Not play OB (and therefore not get attached to the toon) and wait till you get money to purchase the game

The options are there, I don't see a problem with how the system is working at the moment. The problems lie in the fact that your job doesn't pay enough or at planned intervals and the fact that you have attachment issues with your toon. To each their own, I don't judge you based on those issues, but understand that this is just a horrible turn of events for you. The game owes you nothing. You still have the option of playing. You are choosing not to.

Pre-order players will be able to reserve their preferred character name and enjoy early access to the Open Beta Test servers a day before the rest of the world experiences TERA"

All participants in the OBT will keep their characters whether they are pre-order players or someone who wants to simply test the game.

The character deletions were officially announced as happening only to inactive OBT accounts after a few months. The reason for this is to remove all of those reserved names that were taken by players who tried the OBT but then discontinued playing.

I couldn't find the post from Minea about the deletions... I'll keep looking for that.

"We strongly believe trying TERA will make you a believer of our innovative combat system and that our open beta will allow for this. Knowing you can purchase TERA and keep moving right along with your same character is a big incentive."

I honestly have no idea where people got the idea that non preorders get wiped. Rumor fired up out of nowhere, there has never been a blue post that suggested that wiping any open beta characters was the case

People are just too lazy to read for themselves. I'm not going to lie I do this sometimes as well, but I never go on rants about it.

There's a simple solution and I think its what you might have meant in the title: Don' Play the OBT. If you fear that there's going to be a wipe of your precious 4 days old character, then just wait till release and don't play OB. There, solved. Now we can close this pointless thread.
