you can easily upgrade to a 64 bit xp os.
Or acquire a windows 7 serial.
Or I think you can get a cheaper upgrade version of W7 going from xp TO 7.
I am unsure on this..

Oh, & I also forgot to mention that the gpu SUPPORTS Eyefinity (Though, in all honesty, I'm not quite sure what that means. I'm a beginner at building computers)

Eyefinity allows you to hook up multiple monitors and have the display scale across all three displays seamlessly without compromising the aspect ratio (read as: it won't look all scrunched up). Keep in mind though you need at least 3 monitors. Just google it or look it up on AMD's site and you will see how awesome it can be.[/quote]Oh, I gotcha. I recall one of my co-workers having that type of setup in his office. It was some pretty cool [filtered]. But should Win 7 64-bit REALLY make that much of a difference? As far as I could tell, the only benefits I'd be getting is more RAM capabilities. Unless there's something else I'm missing in all of this...?
Eyefinity is used for playing games across multiple monitors (play a game on fullscreen across 3 monitors). Youtube Eyefinity and you'll see some crazy stuff with multiple monitors play games like battlefield and Skyrim as one gigantic screen.
Keep in mind while this game uses Direct X 9, other new games are starting to require Direct X 10 or 11 Only now. To be able to use Direct X 10+ you require Windows Vista or higher, to use Direct X 11 you must have Windows 7 (I wouldn't bother with windows vista tho, go with Win 7 64BIT).
I went with a Radeon HD 6870, an Intel i5 2600K (the K means you can overclock if you want), 8 GB RAM and I can max out the graphics on Battlefield 3 and Skyrim with no issues. I can overclock but I run everything stock (no tweaks to push my system). This is middle of the road stuff and I shouldn't have an issues with any new games coming for a few years.
I forgot to add that Windows XP can only use Direct X 9.
Hild.... a single 6870 CANNOT max bf3, that is proven all over the internet by benchmarks and actual card testing on that game specifically.
Even a 7970 only gets 40-50 fps maxed and it is a 50$ single gpu.
That's pretty impressive...I'll definitely look that up a little later. But are you telling me that my graphics card won't even run with my current Win XP 32-bit?
7970 is 550$ it was a typo.
But a 6850 will run fine on windows xp, however if you try to play dx11 games you will be forced to use dx9 which looks worse and is less effective than dx11.
Getting a windows 7 install and serial would increase performance.
Sweet, thanks for the heads up. It looks like after 2 more paychecks, I should be running TERA real smoothly in 1 month tops. AWWW YEEEEA
All you need is windows 7, if you can cancel the windows xp order do so.
