They'd have to add more endgame material before going F2P because even F2P games have more content than TERA, sadly.

Lots of good MMORPGs have started off P2P but were forced to switch simply because of a dwindling player base. One good game that comes to mind is Priston Tale. I don't see how TERA is going to be any different. Sure, there have been no announcements so far of TERA moving to an F2P system, but then again, there were no announcements that there would be a cash/vanity shop either.
I have no idea why people are trying to compare this game to WoW, when WoW is more the exception rather than the rule. WoW was created by Blizzard, a well-established and reputable game company, with its lore and player base built up from four previous games (counting the TFT expansion as one). Even then, WoW is also on a slow but steady decline.
It is very ironic that the people who accuse those in support of F2P as being jobless and poor are the very same ones who decry the ones in support of a cash shop as simply wanting to flaunt their wealth through their gold weapons.
As for those threatening to quit if the game goes F2P, feel free to give me your stuff when TERA makes the invevitable switch.
@Dataloss: It's a good thing you're not En Masse staff. Closing the forums to non-subscribers would only serve as a barrier to potential customers who are trying to find out more about the game.

Tera have a "cash shop" in Korea too, and it doesn't seem the game is ruined. Everybody QQ about censoring elins because KTera is much better and they are much more advanced than us, but once EME make a step in the same direction Ktera made then everybody start freaking out. I think they got the idea that if they let the "cash shop" turn the game into a Pay-to-win it's THEM who will lose.

On a serious note, to some players Enmasse has ruined their image. And the Amazon sale albeit it brings new players ultimately symbolizes that the game isn't doing well, as you make it appear so.

I highly doubt TERA will go f2p. There are really some on-going issues here and there. However TERA can push forward and develop new content, i have high expectation for this game actually.

Given the recent developments, such as Cash Shop, and Amazon's 50% off sale, it appears that Tera going F2P is not a question of "whether" but "when". The purpose of this thread is thus to discuss how long it will be before Tera goes F2P.

Compared to a p2p like wow... this is hardly a cash shop. Id much rather have everyone buy skins for armor anyway. Then I can be cheap and normal, and they can take your money and make the game better XD
