Title: Which retailers have you had success pre-ordering from?
^ In case the ... thing happens, heh.

Anyways, I'm just curious. Rather than being mad about how X retailer is screwing someone over, I'd like to know where to grab a copy of the collector's edition safely. Of course, they'll all be fine in time, but in the immediate future this is a concern of mine, and I'm sure several others.

Namely, the Beta Code that everyone is so eager to get their hands on.

Hmm.. out of the list of retailers they provided for us on the pre-order page:

BestBuy - I've never actually pre-ordered anything from them, wasn't even aware they had that option. Then again, I've stopped shopping there due to the fact they overprice their goods by a ludicrous amount ($80 for 8gb of ram? I got mine for $30 elsewhere tyvm..)

Walmart - They run a successful business, that's about all I can say. You'll never see me in their stores though.

GameStop - I've pre-ordered from them a couple of times, several of which had special bonus items for doing so. I've had to regularly remind the employees that I did, in fact, pre-order the game and that I hadn't recieved my item yet. Not sure if I'd trust them with a beta key, but probably not much choice for where I live.

Amazon - Only shopped second-hand here for a few things like my mp3 player and a phone charger, never pre-ordered. I'd be more worried that they'd have to ship the box which might delay actually playing the game, though digital download is still an option, just won't have the goodies utnil later.

Target - Never hear much of them any more to be honest, even though they're in the area..

All in all, it really depends on how the retailers go about distributing the codes. From the sounds of it, no one has gotten theirs yet since the retailers themselves don't have info on how to send them out. I'd expect some more info to develop in the coming week as we near the first beta from community members here.

As for myself, I'm going to check with gamestop again tomorrow, as they didn't have CE info today when I went, since out of the list, they're the only ones I've had experience with, and never too large of problems.

Personally, if I was going to, I'd go with Amazon. I've got a serious e-crush on them though so ymmv.

I've only really had experience with preordering from GameStop. Just remember to ask about the beta key when you go reserve it. (Although, like GenName stated, they don't seem to have the codes or the CE available yet.)

Although I haven't preordered from Amazon before, they've been pretty reliable and have pretty good customer service (in my experience). I actually might preorder from them, but I'm waiting to see what the mount for each retailer will be and go from there....

Personally, I've only ever pre-ordered games from Gamestop. As far as MMOs go I did pre-order Aion from GameStop without a problem. I also received a neat little 10 or so page comic that was apparently in limited supply as no one else I knew got one.

With that said I give Gamestop a 8/10 for pre-ordering games. Overall they do a good job, but sometimes you have to remind them of things.

So if you plan to get Tera from them, I'd just peacefully remind them that you would like to be sure you get your beta-key when you do. They most often print on your receipt from them. But my Aion pre-order came with another disk and case for it.

I've never pre-ordered a physical game before.. I'm hoping Amazon will be very user friendly when they (finally) put up the CE since this is my first time.. ;~;

GameStop and Bestbuy have been good for me, but I know alot of Gs employees are out of the loop sometimes. You will need to stay on top of things with them and you are fine.

I've done Gamestop, Best Buy, and Walmart before. All of them have been fine in terms of having my game in stock and whatnot.

Amazon all the way...
Gamestop I have done business with in the past, but I can tell ya Amazon is waaaaay better!
Price wise, usually dlc wise, and their customer support is the berries. I have not bought anything from game stop in years now lol, I stay far away from gamestop now..never going back either.

Oddly enough I've had my best at gamestop. When wrath came out they had left over messenger bags from another game, I ended up with WOTLK and a poster and the messenger bag, and never have any problems.
