Also, I am more apt to buy Cashop items that are indie published in the US (eme is a subsidiary of bluehole) than anything with ncsoft, pwe, nexon, ea, or blizzard on the box.

Final Fantasy 11 has been running steady for 10+ years and is getting a 5th expansion next year. Not even near a flop if you choose to acknowledge the existence of the Japanese gamers, but obviously you choose to believe that they don't exist. Just because a game hasn't become a soulless mass marketing prostitute like WoW dosen't make it a flop.

People play FF11 because it is Final Fantasy. Just how people play SWToR because it is Star Wars. It doesn't even need to be good (FF11 is bad), it just needs to be the best in its category.

If Tera was the only action MMO, it would be thriving like mad. But even if marketed as such, it is not the only option. And when there are options, people will flock to the best option. I won't tell you which is best, since I can't judge such things. I can simply say it will be the game with the most subs.

Tera does have something unique going for them though. The sex appeal. And it should hook and keep people who like sex appeal for a while (unless a competitor shows up). Just a shame some people are too dense to realize the sex appeal is the character of the game, and think things should be changed.

FFXI is rubbish.

I played every job at endgame, had endgame gear for every class, and near-full merits for every class. -- I was about as into the game as one can get. I quit when they raised the level cap.

I never realized until I played some other MMOs just how unnecessarily tedious and time consuming the game was. They have no clue what "Quality of Life" means in a game. It's one of the worst games currently out.


Sure, I miss it sometimes, and yes I think back on some of my time playing fondly, but honestly it was mostly for the community, and the challenge of lowmanning stuff, not for the actual content or gameplay, which was woefully tedious and uncompelling.

Actually it's more like you hire a limo with a basic package. Want a full bar in the back? Extra. Shrimp and steak tartare in the fridge? Extra. Illicit company? Extra . And so on.

The extra money EmE makes from this will only result in more patches & content, who knows, they might even start doing something right.

Cosmetic items are nothing but air in my eyes, as for chronoscrolls, well, they're quickly losing their AH value as we speak. I wouldnt even call them "pay 2 win" to begin with.

A. FFXI is a GREAT game! Loveeeee it and still play to this day. That's my opinion only and those that play it obviously, stating its rubbish is anothers opinion only and meaningless to me personally lol. Neither wrong nor right just different opinions

B. Even though ff doesnt have a cash shop, the fact Tera does have one appeals to me!!
I see nothing wrong with it, in anyway shape or form. In fact I wish hey would introduce A LOT more vanity items faster :o) I also loved the tcg items from WOW had all mounts from there and love each one.

My opinion is majority that dont want to have the cash shop are those that cant afford them, which is life really, sad but true.
No vanity item makes a character stronger they count for nothing no "win" items there

However to be fair, some items could be made obtainable, (very rare though) in game to give everyone a chance. (which is EXACTLY what they are doing now with the egg event!!)

Guranteed with $ , rare chance in game (afterall eme is here to make oodles of money dont be blind to that.)

It is here to stay, people gotta deal with it or leave, it is that simple.

If someone else using a weapon skin is SO upsetting that they are raged then I dont question Teras business decisions, I question the enraged persons IQ and maturity level.

I am supporting it with my $15 per month.

To those claiming cosmetic items are not important or whatever - that's the same argument as a PvE player saying they care nothing for PvP, or vice versa. They are all different aspects of the game and it expressly unfair to penalize one group over the others just because you personally don't feel like X is important.
