Nexon. If the game bugged up & swallowed $50 from you (Like 50,000 NX, GONE), and 8 months later your still getting "Sorry we have a lot of ticket" messages... HOW would you feel?....

I was a side volunteer for them within the Vindictus & Mabinogi communities, I even took the CMs name in Dragon nest xD BUT! They have 0 intentions for hiring more GMs even though after talking with the CMs personally for a few years their GM & CS Departments are very understaffed.... theyre trying to focus on hiring people to improve server stability so theres a lesser need for support, ie a not very wise move.

Vindictus is experiencing a lot of issues here & there & a MAJOR bug still has yet to be fixed from the release of KAROK nearly NINE? or 7~ish MONTHS AGO & Theres many more. Your on your own with them, their "security" is over the roof & idiotic & if you dont give them all your information, one issue & you lose all your hard work.

After experiencing enmasse support, the game thru the betas, and everything else......

.... TAKE MY MONIES ENMASSE, NEXON DOESNT DESERVE IT :O

OP, you want a real reason? Because Nexon is absolutely terrible at managing their games. They do not interact or respond to their communities. Game breaking bugs will go on ignored for months. It's very apparent that the only thing they care about is their revenue stream. Any customer service related issues will be flat out ignored.

They make better profit but all that profit just goes into their pockets. It sure as hell doesn't go into hiring a customer support team or improving the game. You'll see that very quickly. Also the ones that make more profit than a p2p title do it by nickle and diming players for every little thing in the game. Because of players being in the "f2p" mindset they lose track of just how much more money they waste on that mediocre garbage.

I love Dragon Nests story, characters and gameplay, but it's ruined by an incompetent publisher... Vindictus was the same way, I was into it hardcore but again ruined by the publisher...

Both are superior to TERA in the GamePlay and Story realm, but that doesn't mean I don't think TERA is bad (well except for story, the story in TERA is terribad), it just means the other two did it better.

Because of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc0PB8PoOpE!

You won't see something like this in the f2p games, as they are instanced.

Not to mention, it being P2P allows them to afford better devs and better service people.

TBH...a lot of of the F2P make better net profit compare to P2P title

The difference is where the profits go. Once they milk the cash out of you in f2p games your opinion is worth next to nothing, whereas in a p2p game they need to keep the customers happy to stay afloat.

Maple Story....I won't say it's not a bad game, but a F2P title that come out in 2002 or early and still updating... and still one of the biggest F2P title in NA

people always think F2P it's just a tool to milk the cash outta player, but don't the company require to prvoide better service in order to make the player willing to pay for the extra?

it's the same both go with F2P or P2P

No F2P companies never provide better service. They get people to pay extra because people are just that stupid. They get fooled by the word free and don't realize that when you're spending $10 on some new pet, customization, or permanent version of extra storage all seperately you're spending alot more money on things that you'd have complete access to in a P2P game for alot cheaper. They have no such thing as customer service.

I played both Vindictus and Dragon Nest. Both were fun for a while, but eventually became horribly repetitive since their basic formula involves running an instanced dungeon ad nauseam in order to complete various quests through a completely linear story.

Another issue with both games is that they offer only four (last I heard) gender-locked classes with underwhelming customization options. If you want a character that looks anything more than generic, you have to pay. If you want those cosmetic changes (i.e. hairstyles, costumes, etc.) to be permanent, you have to pay even more.

And, of course, there's the pay to win issue, one of which most irritating elements is the fact that you need to pay a considerable amount of real money if you ever want decent inventory space (for each individual character).

Granted, I am very disappointed in the free-to-play model and would rather pay a subscription for a higher-quality game with good customer service than continue playing grindy, lower-quality games that end up costing more in the long run. Just my opinion.

In all honesty I had never heard of either Dragons Nest or Vindictus before looking into Tera, I knew a little about Lineage thanks to looking for games on steam. That's my reasoning for picking Tera over those two lol.

Lesee.. setting the whole F2P and Microtransaction( which is not a bad business method when done correctly) issue aside...

Dragon's Nest: I felt the controls were "stiff" compared to TERA, the customization is mediocre at best and of course as some have mentioned, instanced worlds and pfft.. their cash shop is a joke to be honest. Graphics.. eh... it's ok for an F2P, but I've seen better.

Vindictus: I've not played this game, nor do I plan to so I don't have much to say for this game.
