Why does this game have so many haters?

I made this topic on the eu Tera forums and thought it was possibly something worth discussing here too.

I've looked at many MMO games and none of them were really and honestly any better or worse in the grand scheme of things than Tera at launch, yet this game seems to have so many haters that actively pursue it over multiple forums. Most normal gamers either like a game or they don't, they either play it or they don't but they never continue posting in sustained attacks in the way the Tera haters seem to do.

Does anyone know why it is this way? I was thinking it could maybe be angry russians mad about being blocked, or who knows, even NCsoft employees or a smear campaign of internet trolls paid for by them? Totally in the realms of reality given how nasty the court cases was to try block the games release and with how easy it would be to find a few people to do such a thing. Yes I know tinfoil hat, but if you think about it logically it actually makes quite a lot of sense with how bitter the court case became to try block the game being sold.

I'm genuinely curious why something like this would attract people with such glee and hatred in their souls to continually come back and do the rounds in as many forums as they can in a seeming daily rotation, many of the negative people that post here also post on other Tera related forums and post the same things, they also on occasion seem to work together and make sock accounts to back themselves up on things. I find it genuinely fascinating behaviour.

The people that run the games seem even less willing to stop it, which again is baffling. Most games make the forums limited access like Guild wars 2 has and will have, the IP blocks banning even seem to be what would be happening if there were dedicated DDOS attacks going on.

Probably a nonsense post but I find it all very interesting and odd.

People had really high expectations. Me and my friends followed this game for 2 years before NA launch so I am sure there are others.

PvP is very fun but there is a lot of disappointment in terms of content and PvE in general.

No its because even though all games have grind and money sinks. Tera made a glaring mistake they give you so many quests with so much experience and mob experience that it catapults you to 60 in mere weeks where you get stuck with nothing to do. After paying 60 buck for the game and 15 for a sub and you get 1 good month out of the game before you gotta start doing repetitive tasks and essentially making what should be a fun game into a job. It's sort of like a [filtered] you to a gamer to get screwed into think wow this is an awesome game oh wait no it sucks after 2 weeks.

People hate Mr Jones for driving a Rolls-Royce and throw rocks at it. People hate seeing their co-worker get promoted and talk behind their back about how much they suck instead of congratulate. TERA has haters because people are jealous oh how happy people are staying by playing the game. When TERA is still going after someone quits, they get mad because they want the game to fail if they personally don't enjoy it.

EDIT: For people who are saying it takes only a few weeks to reach 60, I've been playing for months and still haven't broken 30 and I have only three characters. There's a lot more to do in TERA than level up.

this and that 90% of mmo players are ....well, incapable of accepting conventional logic.

It happens to every single MMO. Did you not see the hate that GW2 gets from TERA fans, even before they had the first beta weekend event?

Months? All two of them? How can you not have leveled more than that? Even the haters actually played their characters more than you did. I guess distance really does make the heart grow fonder.

The forums here are open to everyone, so ppl will hate. Many games you have to have an active account to post, so it makes it hard to hate when ppl can simply ask "Then why are you subscribed?"

So you guys don't think there is a dedicated smear campaign paid for from NCsoft? I was reading the legal proceedings and people went to jail and they desperately wanted this game to never launch. The amount of anger and hatred from them over this, it would make a lot of sense and infact it makes no sense that they wouldn't do it.

Keep in mind I don't aim this at anyone that dislikes the game, just those that seem to spend a strange amount of their day doing it on multiple forums.
