Why exactly do PvPers hate on PvE?

PvE is for people who can't handle unconditional PvP, hence they are looked down upon accordingly.

Yes, it's really a shame that the group of 30 guilded people that only travel together when looking for PvP look down on others that enjoy setting up and entering balanced matches where the outcome won't be so lopsided.

@OP - They look down at PvEers because they believe their views are superior. In my opinion, the reason PvEers don't like playing on free for all servers, is because there's no such thing as an even match. If you attack someone that's killing a mob, and they fight back, that's fine in my book. That sort of play-style adds excitement to the game, and is fun from time to time. Now, if the same person attacks the other, but this time has their whole guild backing them up, I cannot see any sense of enjoyment out of that. Are they looking to start some sort of epic PvP? In which case, if they're looking to get good PvP going, isn't that the same as organizing PvP? Which PvEers also do, just in a different manner..

PVP'ers tend to be overzealous half wits who have gang mentality. They assume that because people like to play RPGs in peace they're "weak". They also tend to be socially inept people who aren't really competitive in anything that is even playing field or 1v1.

E-[filtered] compensates for something that is lacking in the personal life.

Not every PVP person is like this obviously, the reasonable people are very organized and very sportsmanlike. Very rare type though.

You sound very angry, on multiple threads. Seriously calm your storm.
For the record I'm the sportsman PvP'er ...90% of the time

So if you dislike PvE so much, why bother with any game Environment whatsoever. The majority of the game is PvE unless you are in a blank room with a cube for a target. Just because the AI's aren't as innovative as some human opponents might be does not mean they don't offer a challenge.

I've got nothing against PvP and people who like it, its just not for me. To each their own is a good way of thinking, I for one would love to see a bit less judgement of people who don't play they same way as others, that's why there are so many different games made.

Because PvP server inhabitants like me are too alpha-blooded or alpha wannabes and want to feel pain and deliver them while instigating hatred. We despise peace.

Skipping past the obvious mistake of comparing an MMORPG to any singleplayer game; I'll address your chess analogy.

While you can turn your chess game up to 11 and have some grand-master AI trounce you; MMORPG devs don't throw such a high difficulty at you. In fact, their main demographic is the lowest common denominator. Meaning they scale the time requirements and challenge relative to what just about anybody could succeed at.

And no matter what your level is in a modern MMORPG, the AI you'll be facing is scaled relative to you. They stay as strong or as weak as you from levels 1 to cap. In essence, nothing changes. You're just on a treadmill with periodic level ups to give the appearance of progress.

Never angry, and you didn't deny any of the things I stated. You even made sure to reassure yourself that you're a sportsman. We all know it's the truth. The unregulated aspects of MMO PVP bring out the ugly in people.

If you put a bunch of humans in a big sand box with no accountability you will see the true nature of their character.

PvPers need to get their licks in while they can - their servers are always the first to go dead :)

But seriously, attitude-wise, the only genre of PvP worse than MMO's is the FPS genre. And the percentage of people actually interested in meaningful player combat is likely a single-digit number - the rest spend all their time pre-battle engineering situations where they can't lose, whether it's through gear, levels, or numbers. Which is exactly the kind of qualities that a military is looking for, but some of us can do without in a game.

I gave up on MMO PvP a long time ago. I get it from other game genres, and enjoy it.

That's the problem, they're not even alpha personalities IRL. They typically are what you stereotypically think they are. When they are behind closed doors they are in a world were they can get E-rep, and be the bullies for once. The forums will paint a picture of this.

Again, I am not painting a picture of all PVP folks. All jokes aside.

Because people who roll on a PvE server is paying for their sub, while forgoing a feature of the game. At the end, they're not playing the game to its fullest potential.
