I do not want to get flagged or banned from the forums so I will replace the f word with cow. ^_^

To all pvp players that hate on pve players COW off man! I enjoy both pve and pvp content but I mostly play pve Because I find myself enjoying this more, so COW off! I enjoy leveling, I enjoy fighting a big [filtered] monster more then just fighting an cowing [filtered]! Now if we can pvp like friends and enjoy it and laugh together while we beat each other skulls in then pvp is really fun, but this is really rare in the world of pvp and you deal mostly with cowing [filtered]s. I deal with jerks all day at work I don't want to deal with them in my relaxing game time.

So let people play the god damn game the way they want you got plenty of other players to pvp with!
SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESH!

You're making PvP players out to be cowing jerks... but what about the PvE players who assume all PvP players are gankers? I just like the extra challnge and unpredictability of PvP servers.
Yea pve also has it's fair share of jerks but in pve I can choose who I play with, I can't do this in open world pvp. So do I think all pvp players are jerks no not at all but i will admit that i think the majority of pvp players are jerks, mmo's that are more directed at pvp almost always have terrible communities like aion, aion's community is terrible!

I play PvE because i want to avoid the attitude that comes with the majority of PvP'ers, i play a game to have fun and my idea of fun is not being ganked while i'm concentraiting on helping my group. The Majority of PvP experiences i have been through have been unfair advantages, such as massive level gaps or groups vs 1, followed by things like "baddie" "noob" "insert profanity here".

Let's say on a PvE server it takes me less time to get to level 30, than my alternate self on a PvP server, the reason is, because i had to deal with ganking along the way. Socially speaking, at level 30(PvE) i can sit in town, talk to the guild, help others, play with others or whatever i want to do, where my alternate lv30 is struggling to get anything done because most outlands are covered with gankers and greifers. If PvP is some sort of "Community involvment" as iv'e explained it, i will stick to PvE and that social atmosphere.

It sounds to me that you just haven't played an MMORPG that was pvp-oriantated by design. If all you know is the WoW generation of MMOs, then I can understand your point of View. Try playing a game where there is incentive to participate in large-scale open world objective-driven, organized PvP, and have your entire end-game revolve around it.

PvP in MMORPGs is capable of going far beyond ganking questers, and if that's all you believe it has to offer, I'm sorry to say you're not quite qualified to even hold this discussion. If you hate the current state of OW PvP in mmorpgs, then convey that to the devs (of any upcomming mmo) and tell them as a community that taking the WoW route isn't good enough.

Well I didn't say that's all PvP servers had to offer. I'm just saying, the only difference I've read so far between a Tera PvE and PvP server is the PK system. If there's large-scale open world organized PvP in Tera, then I'll gladly roll a character on a PvP server. But as of now, I don't see massive differences between the servers.

So I fail to see why you got people hating on each other for being in a particular server. I'm just arguing why people would choose PvE over PvP servers, especially when there isn't a huge difference.

its mainly because, alot of pve players ruined alot of games, from crying about getting ganked none stop, or wanting more pve content ect ect. so the fact that alot of games pvp was ruined because of the pve crowd caused alot of hate.

Then feel free to roll PvE, but why are you making 99% of PvP'ers out to sound like ADHD children that just wanna gank.... if you spend all day ganking, when would you level?
Besides aren't you getting the headstart? You should be ahead of that curve, you could even let out some frustration by revenge ganking for all those times you got ganked in the past.

Your statistics not mine. Read the forums, follow your own gamer type.

I have no real urge to participate in PVP while I'm learning about the game and the story. I'm glad they have the PVP and PVE separated, and give PVE folks the OPTION to test their might on agreeable terms. That's what true competitors do.

No PVP player should think any PVE'er is soft or a Carebear for not wanting to deal with cowards, and resort to being a coward to get even. That's not competitive.

Lastly MMORPG PVP doesn't have squat on FPS, and FPS doesn't have squat on 1v1 Fighting Games.

I played on a PvP server during CBT 4 to check out the community, and a lot of the time when i killed someone i would get angry messages like "fight me again noob" or "Rofl, baddy" from the deceased player and when i got killed i got messages like "QQ noob" or "UMADBRO?". If we're all having fun why do people need to show this animosity to each other? I got ONE "gg" from someone the entire time.

PvE is for people who can't handle unconditional PvP, hence they are looked down upon accordingly.

See this is why most people are idots by this way of thinking... To some its not that we can't handle it, its because we go after the more casual play... the relaxing part of it enjoy it specially couples who just want to play together and have fun. It has nothing to do if we can handle it... Well most of us. The real reason most pvpers hate pvers are because of the wining a lot of pvers tend to do. PVE makes up about 80% of the game... All pvpers want is to pvp... I used to be annoyed but I don't bother going, "I hate pvpers becuase of this and that.. People who look down on pvers and make fun of them and say childish things, are nothing but children or bearly adult kids who think they are badass. This thread just bring out immature pvp children.

FYI Im a PVER rolling on PVP Server.

The answer isn't a simple one, however it has a common root. PvE and PvP dedicated players tend to have a different philosophy on how to approach playing the same game. It is part of sociology that people inherently tend to see this kind of thing as US and THEM when these differences in opinions take over and in turn leads to hatred. This particular hatred goes both ways with people in the middle caught in the crossfire and often hated by both sides sadly.

One of the biggest causes that lead the groups to clash is when a change is proposed that will heavily effect one gaming aspect in a way that is negative(pve change making pvp worse and vise verse). You will never be able to solve this schism within a community unless the game itself has two entirely different teams working on pvp and pve and this is planned from the very start. However in many games you have PvE games with PvP aspects or PvP games with PvE aspects. This leads to one side being disappointed and the side that receives the least dedication often becomes the most loud and zealous. This is normal though as they should expect a little bit of attention at the very least, but often many companies advertise that PvP and PvE will receive equal treatment when in fact it is not done.

So the fault and cause of this can be traced back to how the game itself is advertised and treated by the development/publishing company. If a company were to one day say "Hey we want this game to be primarily focused on PvE and we'll just throw a bit of PvP on the side for kicks" that would stomp out a lot of claims and "rights" that people have that they are the better audience that should be catered to. This works both ways though not just for one or the other so don't get me confused.

I can see what you mean about the "us" and "them" mentality because I tend to view gankers as the "them" when really I have no idea what is going on inside such a person's head, and the nice person that I just did a few quests with could very well go off and one-shot a few lowbies afterwards. It's also sad to see a game trying to balance many different types of play while doing all things in a mediocre manner when they could've just focused on one thing and made it really great. Do you folks think that this game is tuned to be more of a PvP or PvE experience? *opens up a can of worms*

Have you ever considered that PvE servers are there for players that like to play the content and don't care much for pvp o.O? oh thats a new concept to grasp

Although I'm PvP, that's how I see PvE players.
