I generally don't hate on a game company(even Activision and EA), but i have to ask. Why the hell hasn't EME fired Atari yet? So far they failed to get retailers the info they needed to take regular copy pre orders, and then subsequently failed to get retailers the beta codes they needed to give to customers in order to play in the first CBT.

If that weren't enough they're now failing to provide retailers with the info they need to take CE pre orders/upgrade pre orders, and unless I'm mistaken in who does advertising they're failing to promote the product.

I finally got tired of waiting for them to get retailers the info they need to take CE pre orders and ordered from GS. After them calling another store to ask the MMO game what Tera was and how to give me the code I asked if there were any plans for a midnight release or if i'd have to pick it up on the 1st. I was told there would more than likely be no party because I was the only person to pre order so far.

So again i really have to ask after all this(not including the advertisement because I'm not 100% sure who's responsible for that) why hasn't EME fired Atari?

I can see you don't know how the developer/publisher role works. You just don't get to "fire" your publisher once an agreement has been made. Plus Tera is a smaller game and Korean, that reduces the publisher choices.

Distributors aren't advertisers... they just distribute the game.

You're right I'm really framiliar how everything works, but I'd have to imagine there would be a "failure to provide services" clause in the contract that would allow EME to drop Atari when they're failing to provide the promised services(which they so far are).

How does the fact that it was originally a Korean game have anything to do with who will publish it? Unless there's some law about who can publish what once it's been localized it's an American english game

EME should be handling marketing.

I think it's more likely that there's a clause that required Atari to pay damages.

Atari couldn't handle a girl guide BBQ :(. But I dare say they have a contract so they cant just tell Atari to sod off.

yeah I wasn't sure who did marketing and just assumed distribution handled it. well even without the advertisement failure the other 3 points still stand
