Why's this game take forever to download?

really what's so different about this game than every other game that makes it talk almost half a day and it's only 82% done at the time of writing this. My download speed is around 20+MS/s according to speed tests(20 was the lowest of multiple tests and I've downloaded the entirety of WoW which is substantially bigger than Tera in under 4 hrs(most of that was because i kept pausing it to download other stuff).

Based on those two things I should definitely have more than a 1Mb or less per second DL speed. So what's up with this EME?

to anyone tempted to make suggestions I've played with the peer 2 peer, played with upload and played with every option available to make the DL go faster but have been stuff at this laughable DL speed

Also really need and edit feature and for bumps to work properly. tired of having to create multiple threads on similar subjects because there is no edit or bump

Hmm i havn't downloaded WoW in awhile but you do realize that TERA takes up 30 Gigabytes right? Thats alot of data.

TERA isn't a 30 gigabyte download, sorry to burst your bubble. To fix download speed turn off p2p networking under settings. It turned my 24 hour download into a 2 hour. And it helped many others as well, it's probably cause the p2p networking they have isn't stable and your connection constantly drops and resets.

iStill have WoW on my comp and just checked the file size. Missing the latest patch it's 29.6 gigs. so Tera might be a little bigger, but 4 MB shouldn't make this much of a difference, so it's something on EME

i've already done that. i've done EVERYTHING i can possibly do on my end to speed up the process, but i've stayed at a less than to 1.2 MB download speed.

Hate to break it to you but it is. It reserves 30 GB out of your harddrive, and actively uses 22 gigabytes. No matter how you look at it thats a ton. If you want proof just go check the properties of the folder.

Its like with any game you download digitally it since it has alot of temp files loading to.


@ OP I had no issue took me 3/ 4 hours for the 17GB then like 1hr 30/ 2hrs for the 7GB and I live in Houston and have comcast , its could be your computer, internet provider connection to EnMass servers your modem/ router or everything.

SO its no always the company's fault unless your find out ALL the other stuff is fine

Hmm took me like no time at all to install the game. Then about an hour for the last patch, maybe less actually.
