I have been following TERA for a long time now and was always very excited for it to be released in the US. However, the timing couldn't be worse for me. With D3 coming out soon and Guild Wars 2 right behind it, I'm not sure I want to pay a subscription for a game I might not have the time to play.
Regardless of the opinions on GW2, I plan to try it because of it's pricing model even though I hated the first game. Being a full time worker I don't have the time to sink into MMOs anymore like they usually demand. Also, the instant like PvP in GW2 is very attractive in that I won't have to waste countless PvE hours grinding for PvP. I have yet to understand TERAs PvP system and how long I have to level before its competitive, so if someone could explain that would be great.
Also, a lot of MMOs are taking the F2P option recently, and regardless of whether that is better or not, it certainly gives gamers a larger selection of games to choose from before choosing a subscription based game.
Bottom line: will you be subscribing? Why or why not?
