Will we need a LFG tool?

If you want a game where you can play the easy route, just logging in, hitting a button, and get on with an instance, because you don't care about the community or the social aspects of the game and you just want to do an instance or 2 and then log off...

You already have a game like that for you. It's called World of Warcraft.

We are the people who DON'T want a game like this. We want a populated world, we want to roam the world, we DONT WANT to be holed up in Velika queueing up dor dungeons. We want to find people roaming the world for OWPvP, we want to form a community. We want to add our instance colleagues on our friend list and call him up again when we need him. We want to MEET PEOPLE, not just use them like a glorified BOT as it is with Random matchmaking.

Now go find your game, and leave ours alone. We are here because we are RUNNING FROM this type of game.

You don't HAVE to do anything. That's why there is a choice for you to go build a community with your friends and Guild Mates and others can do what THEY want.

You are also 100% RIGHT about logging off if there is something in the game that you don't like. Sooooo... you'll be logging off right?

This design philosophy of "let's give everyone the choice to play the game like they want, be it easy-going or commiting", is what's made WoW what it is today. A collection of bad players with total disregard for the social aspects of an MMO, who play like functional autists and don't want to be challenged. Sorry, but I don't want another WoW. I'm running FROM WoW and it's "I want it now" playerbase.

Humanity is like this. If presented the easy route, it will follow. To NOT have an easy route is the only way the easy route won't be used by 99.999% of the population. So, if we want a game where 99% of the playerbase is not holed up in the main city queueing for dungeons, there's only one way - to NOT HAVE a LFD

So, you want a LFD? good!!! there are plenty of games out there that have it!!! WoW, RIFT, even LOTRO has one, of sorts. Why don't you go play one of those games, and leave us alone? Is it so hard to understand our community is different?

To clarify the point here:

Number of players who want LFD =/= number of players who will use LFD

Along with:

Number of players against LFD =/= Number of players who will not use LFD

The problem with giving more choices is that it splits the player-base. Either side will not have the maximum amount of people it could possibly have and will create cue time problems.

Why do these jaded angry elitist miserable MMORPG zombies believe a game that everybody paid for and subscribes to is "theirs" and not "ours"?

P.S. Anybody who migrates from game to game like gypsies (with their friends and guild mates mind you) because the "community is destroyed" by people having a choice to auto instance there's something socially OFF with you. No game is ever going to be good enough for you. Stop running from game to game, and find a daily activity the better suits your life needs.

It's not the games, its YOU.

Don't want to get back involved on this issue, but I do want to point out that you can't say that we forum-users are incapable of giving a representative opinion. We happen to be the ones who are more vocal and opinionated on TERA, but I would argue that we are perfectly capable of representing the majority.

Nobody is making you pay anything.

Now, what you're faliling to realize is that you're doing the exact same thing I am, only the opposite. You are trying to impose your will into the game just as much as I am.

YOU want to be holed up in a city queueing for a dungeon, and you don't care that this implementation will make everybody do the same and ruin the experience for a lot of people who want to get out in the world and immerse, because the world will be dead.

YOU don't care that this implementation will only make people with your mentality rush to this game and dominate the playerbase, just like they did in WoW and RIFT.

YOU are here argumenting that you want the game to be taiolred on how YOU want to play it, and you simply don't care on the impact this will have on the bigger picture. Because YOU don't care, YOU just want to log in and do a dungeon in less than 5 minutes.

YOU don't care that there are other games out there where you can have the experience you desire so much. YOU want to do the same on TERA. YOU don't care about all of us saying we want a different game, that we care about building a community and we don't want to be left with a game that nobody cares about anybody and everybody playes like an autist in their little bubble with no regard to others.

So stop calling me and everyone else here who's against the RDF an "angry elitist miserable MMORPG zombie". Just so you know, I'm a musical theatre student who only have 2 days in the week to play around 3 hours or so. I'm NOT a hardcore teen with spare time to play 10 hours a day. I'm about to cancel a 7-year-old WoW subscription because I can't have fun anymore with the playerbase as it has become. Maybe some of us just want to socialize in the game and build a community. You don't want to? FINE! but don't try to take that from us. now THAT is truly selfish.

You're absolutely right.

I'm trying to impose freedom upon you. Freedom to play with whomever, whenever, and not have to suffer the pains of forming a group.

You on the other hand are not trying to impose freedom onto the population.

You want everyone to conform to you viewpoint for the good of the game.
