Here is what everyone of you should have done. Dual booted your [filtered] machines. Hard concept isn't it. I am sure you all had the harddrive space to partition off 50 or so GB for Windows 7. But naw, its a release preview(aka release condidate) it should be good to go right? Guess you all were wrong.

Dude give it up. I come onto this forum once a day for 20 minutes and see you trolling in a thread every single time. Stop and go outside.

win8X64 can patch, but cant play! it works very well before
what the hell is this time patch do?!
if u guys need win8 test man,let me know

I am also testing Windows 8.
Metro is an efficiency disaster, just not a good interface for productivity on the desktop.
There is precious little to recommend 8 over XP, let alone 7 in a work environment.
Day to day productivity is what we need from an OS, not change and complexity

Tera still runs perfectly on its intended platforms. Windows 8 is the problem, not Tera.

If I'm to bet for something, WinLicense (aka bloated Themida - think of it as of gg in disguise) nonsense probably messed up the game - and almost for sure the recent updates were in some way related to that junk (Tera is "protected" by it, like many other korean productions). ITOW it probably tries something "new", clever and in essence sooner to be found in more advanced malwares than normal software - and in such case Win8 probably showed it the middle finger.

Just a gut feeling - you would have to find executables with that junk removed. It does wonders for Aion though (from compatibility and - often - performance angles).

At this point I do not believe this is the issue. They are using Themida v2.0.1.0+ which unless they are using a version prior to 2.1x (released in Feb) should not be causing any problems with Windows 8. You could always unpack the exe's and see if it is really the issue (I will not be doing this as stated before).

Anyone made any gains on resolving this issue yet?
I am really keen to start playing TERA on my Windows 8 instance on VMware

There will be no resolution. It is an unsupported operating system.

Thank god i didn't buy the game, windows 8 runs everything just fine, tera on the other hand has some bad coding if it cant even work under an operating system that it did before.

To bad for the game, loss of purchase of game + monthly subscriptions, is that good business sense ???

Guess back to Everquest 2 and World of Warcraft, which runs just fine :)

Hopefully they fix this as this was something I wanted to try.

Cheers

I Kind of loled at this subject.

Mostly because some people act like Windows 8 is offically released.

Basically I reckon its poor from developers, something that worked, now doesn't, 2 things.
Firstly developers strive to fix issues in games to make them better,
Secondly, with some many MMO's these days its hard to get users to try these games, buying it and the having monthly subscriptions.

Guess money doesn't matter to this company, must have deep pockets to not want my money.

That in itself is 'LOL'

Don't get me wrong, I own Windows 7, and have spent quite substantial time setting up Windows 8 and seeing what it can do, most people do this, so then when it is released they can buy it and know what it can and can't do.

I could go back to it, but I just can't be bothered reinstalling everything again. Considering everything is working fine, *cough* besides tera....

I just downloaded this game today, as a 7-day trial, so I yet haven't bought it, which I probably would have.

What's sad is that this game from what I read worked on Windows 8, up until a patch ago. So now they say, windows 8 is not officially released so it won't be fixed. Bet if EQ2 or WoW stopped working on Windows 8, which it does work, they would fix it straight away and keep paying customers happy.

So I'm just going to add my two cents with the following:

So here I am... Big MMO spender I mean each MMO I get i pay for about 2-3 years minimum not like EQ or WoW which won 6-7 years in my wallet... anyway so I go to my friends what's that cool looking game you're playing... oh it's tera, seems nice, I WANT IT.

Boom... I get the trial, download the game, and have all intentions to buy it and play a whole lot of it... Oh no... It doesn't run even after I press that big flashy "Play" Button, Oh no wait it's not working on Windows 8 anymore.... What it will not be fix since the developers claim windows 8 isn't out yet... awesome so I reactivated my wow account for 6 months... GJ enmasse.

BTW I hope you guys be smart enough to at least get windows 8 supported 2 weeks before it's release so you won't find a whole bunch of users switching to windows 8 to discover a whole bunch of bugs or just quitting because the game isn't working properly.

Don't get me wrong a future version of an app fine take you're time until it's released, but when windows represents about 85% of the OS market, and have a RC, MAKE IT WORK, cause just 2% of that population quitting your game cause is not working, IS A BIG NUMBER.

And to the admins that are posting or locking threads... Dude... Really... that's a way to treat you're community? here you just lost a potential client... and believe there are a lot of MMO out there to choose.

That's exactly my situation.
I have Windows 8 installed and everything Works fine, from GW2Beta, to WoW, Champions Online and a all the other games I have.

I wanted to try Tera before the GW2 release. If the game is good, I would buy it, because it seems that GW2 will not be released so soon. But the game doesn't work on Win8. So, I bought a few criptic points and I went back to Champions Online.

I understand that the SO is a RC, yet. But, as I did, many other potential players are doing the same: spending some Money in other games instead this one because ALL other games work just fine on Win8. And I will not buy this game for now, which means I will not renew next month and the next ones.

So, get some time to try to make Tera work AGAIN on a RC SO seems to be a good idea.
