Yet, another lost customer due to the enchanting system!

its people like thundercat and shadowoptix. read their posts. clearly they have that backwards, elitist mentality. maybe they even had good luck with the enchanting rng. if they really think people will NOT leave over this, and that its ok if people do, they are sadly mistaken.

enchanting rng is a huge issue. terrible nexus, instance droprates, bad economy, lfd queue times are some other issues. tera cant just ride along on its combat system and think people will just accept mindless grinding in NA.

@shadowoptix: love your post about them adding stuff back into the game like mischief boxes. more rng will NOT bring people who left back to the game. most people who leave dont come back. few ever come back to see if things changed, or to see newly released content.

stop with the hate. its never ok to lose customers. get a job maybe you'll understand that concept."

I work in retail and i will 100% disagree with you. If someone came in to my store that I just could not please and complained about the same thing over and over again I would gladly as them to leave. If someone came into my store and ranted at me and I could not reason with them and help them, I would as them to leave. If a customer came into my store and called me names and made threats..... I would "tell" them to leave.

Your 15 dollars a month only goes so far. Yes any Business Man would want your money, but your money only carries you so far. And if someone came into my store and said they quit because blah blah blah, I would say "have a nice".

Also like to disagree with you on the "they most likely want come back". That's BS. That's actually a giant pile of stinking BS. I've had people mad at me or someone in my store and promise that they'll never come back.... BUT THEY ALWAYS COME BACK! i am sick n tired of WoW craft and I have never once posted a I quit thread. But you know what? As soon as there's a free trial for Mist i'll play it and if i like it i'll come back and play for a bit.

If a large fraction of your customer base stopped shopping at your store because, despite the fact that the merchandise was great, your customer service, billing, store layout, hours of operation, inventory management were all [filtered][filtered] terrible, you may have a problem.

Bottom line is that TERA has exactly two things going for it: 1. combat mechanics; 2. [filtered].

Every other game system and design component in TERA is subpar, if not totally fail: LFD, PvP system (or lack thereof), zerg politics, cosmetic models, crafting mats, enchanting, dr stat scaling, the list goes on.

Actually it is very common to lose customers. It's even more common to lose customers who don't share your vision for a product.

The only people who will leave are the people who want another WoW easy as hell and get max gear in a month players. Some of us, myself included, don't want those players around.

A MMO can make money, which is the only way to measure success (sub numbers mean little. Profit is profit), there can always be way to make more money without selling out to WoW baddies.

hmmm . . . perhaps this is just another repercussion of the demented "everyone's a winner" school of thought brought on by the socialist teacher's movement.

. . . just thinking . . .

I am actually married. I also have a daughter!

ITT people think that this is the first RNG system. Every mmo you've ever played is RNG, its just not labeled as it.

Gear drops? RNG.
Loot rolls? RNG.
Cash Drops? RNG.
Chances for skill ups in professions to succeed (if not orange or w/e)? RNG.
Damage output in almost every game BESIDES TERA? RNG.
Healing output, damage intake, etc. RNG.
List goes on cry baby.
Progression in literally every game is rng.

He also brought up the argument that as it stands, there will be people in the game who never get to +9 because it is just too much time/too difficult/too tedious. Which I am fine with. Because not everything should be do-able by everyone in a MMORPG. There should be things that are just difficult if not impossible to get.

+9 is not even that hard. It will happen as long as you put in the time - it might be a very very very long time, but it will happen.

It's clearly that you missed my point man.

I repeat: With this RNG system there wil be players that will NEVER get their items enchanted.

It's not like in other games where there was a specific chance (being it lower or higher).

Take SWTOR again ... the PVP bags had a 20 % chance to drop a token. That doesn't mean you will get a token from 5 bags. But that 20 % is giving you hope.

Here, there is no actually stated chance. It's just Success or Fail.

There is actual stated % which is how success or fail exist.

The fail in this system is just much higher than the success. something to the effect of 80/20 + - random variables like enchant you're going for, and items used in the process.

You cannot have something with "chance" without a defined percentage of some sort.

That 20% to get bag tokens is RNG, herp, [filtered], derp.
How do you even breathe?
