That's funny, because everyone I know who switched from coke to diet coke lost tons of weight and / or body fat %.

I went from 6"1 @ 225lb to 190 just switching to diet soda and not changing anything else.

My brother went from 280 to 215 just from switching from Soda to crystal lite / diet coke.

My best friend went from 230 to 185 switching from coke to crystal lite / diet coke.

No change in physical activity either.

90% of the "research" about "sugar replacements" are researched in dishonest ways not concurrent with the scientific method, or down right made up.

Most of the research done on diet drinks and sugar replacements are funded by... get this... Fructose Corn syrup manufacturing / distributing companies (What a shock!).

Diets are really simple. (Calories in, calories out). If you burn more energy through the day then you put in via eating, you lose weight. It's pretty simple stuff. Now as far as healthy bodily functions, muscle development, etc etc, that stuff is where diets become more of a real science (protein/carb/fiber/fat ratios, vitimins, etc etc)

But each can of soda = 200+ calories of simple carbs. Drink 10 softdrinks/juices/teas/coffies in one day, and you just DRANK your body's basic normal recommended calorie intake in DRINKS ALONE.

Sorry, but if you eat a slice of pizza, drinking it down with a diet soda doesn't "Add calories" to it, or make it "worst". Diet sodas are calorie free. Your body is going to digest and store that energy from the pizza either way. Difference is you didn't wash it down with 800 calories worth of sugar.

one word, Aspartame.

you may think that the studies are "done in unscientific ways," but that doesnt change the fact that aspartame is worse for you then sugar. that WAS discovered in very scientific ways.

and yes, it does increase fat storage and weight gain.

heres an article explaining it better then i could.

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2012/04/23/aspartame-in-less-sugar-sodas.aspx

theres even a video at the bottom :)

now im not saying everyone who drinks it immediately become fat, especially if youre physically active already, but it is still worse for you and if you are physically active you will find it easier to lose weight if you switch from diet to regular. (ofc no pop would be best for this, but pops just too good lol).
