diablo eating server pop

i've tried to find posts on this using the forum search and it didn't bring up anything useful do don't troll just because this has been talked about before.

... but do you guys reckon Diablo is going to have a significant impact on server population? I personally am not interested in it. And I love this game. it's the best MMO since wow. But it would really suck if a significant percentage of players left for Diablo.

Thoughts?

I'm on Basilisk Crag. And it seems quieter of late. Guild has definitely been quieter.

HOW DARE YOU!! THERE ARE 1092830283 THREADS!

I'm joking. Well, sure. D3 is a new game, and lots of people have probably been waiting for D3 more so than Tera. This isn't a bad thing, however. You also notice that a lot of the completely nonconstructive complainers on these forums have also quieted.

Those that jump to D3, because of whatever reason weren't going to stay with this game anyways. It's better to get those people out of our game so EME / Bluehole can see real subscription numbers.

If they're high well yay! This will hopefully motivate them to take their time with some great content.

If they're low? Yay! Wha - huh? Why yay? Well let me tell you reader! This will put some fire under the booty of EME / Bluehole and say "what's wrong with our game?" Then work to improve it.

So win win all around :D

*DISCLAIMER* I could be wrong about all of this. EME / Bluehole could do anything with this game despite subscription numbers. This was just my thinking. Totally baseless opinion. :)

Exactly this. It's like what happened with TERA. There's a noticeable difference between average server pop from when the game first launched and now (just in general overall). The hype fades for every game and it faded for a lot of people.

D3, good game, I got it, but don't see myself playing it hardcore like Tera. Just find the pugs a little annoying in Tera because people rule out certain classes just because they were created that way. Of course it happens a lot in other mmos, but seeing it happen here a lot more bugs me lol. If I was going to add WoW to this, that game is just faceroll in normal heroic 5 man dungeons rofl in stupid gear.
