Know I saw it, can;t find it now for the life of me, help? Also, someone have how gear ilvl progresses with enchanting (like I know +8 and +9 is same ilvl)? Trying to figure out exactly what it's going to take to get 153.

Trying to figure out how to interpret this too. I'm currently at 150. I dont think you need a full set of t13 +9s for 153. I have a +9 weapon, +7 feet. Then other 2 pieces are t12. So far it looks like 153 should hit ~ 3 t13 +8/9s.

jewelry affects iLVL as well, though not as much.
Also iLVL is determined by the stats on the item not +8 or +9. Two identical teir masterwork +9 weapons can have different iLvls depending on what the +1%-3% stat bonus is on it.

Actually it's going to take a lot, I was looking at someone with top ilvl jewelry, full t13 and hey were still 152, I'm pretty sure all of their gear was +8 or above, but I might be remembering wrong.

That only applies to MW items, the non mw stuff of the same tier all has the same ilvl depending on enchantment regardless.

I wonder if they will come out with new jewelry now that I think about it.

Isn't iLevel just an average of all the items?

Well technically the ilvl is the level of the specific item in question, Gear Score, is the http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arithmetic_mean (mean) ilvl.

People generally just say ilvl when actually talking about GS though.

Absolutely not. what I ca tell easily is lance is weighted more then chest which is weighted more then hands and feet, which are weighted more then jewelry.

Additionally it is not simply lance is 28% of ilvl chest 26% etc, it is a formula of some sort.

Hemm... the easiest way to test would be to take out each individual item and see the GS change

That will let you know the weight placed on that item.

E.g. let say you have score of 185

You take out lancer (with score of 188) and it drops to 170

that means your 188 is translated to a score of 15, so it has a weight of 7.9%

Just do that for each and you will have the basic ratio. If the weight is not linear then you have a problem.
