source file checksum error

Anyone get this error ? I'v played all CBT's and havn't had a problem at all. I just finished downloading the new 4gig file. When it goes to patch it stops at 1% and give me a source file checksum error.

I'v tryed to close the launcher and reopen it. It just downloads the file again and when it goes to patch it gets stuck at 1% and gives me the source file checksum error again..

I'v tryed to redownload twice now! I really don't want to uninstall and redownload 25 gigs but I'm starting to think thats what I'm going to have to do... any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I ended up having to redownload the game over this stupid issue. Mods will tell you to follow this guide: http://support.enmasse.com/tera/download-error-checksum-unknown-file

Tho it would BEOOOVE them to add the new patch to the avaliable separate download so you DON'T have to unistall the damn game.

thats just me tho...

I was getting this error at 82% of patching. Tried about 4 or 5 times but always got stuck at same point. So I am just going to delete Tera and reinstall it from scratch. I think my problem may have had to do with the fact that I had converted it to Europe and back for EU Tera's beta 2 weekends ago.

I did a windows update and restarted and the patch applyed without a problem. My windows was updated rescently too! So anyone with this problem may want to give that a try before reinstalling the entire game!

I don't know if reinstalling the game is necessary, but it fixed the issue for me.

I encountered this one too. I followed the solution as suggested here, but after I uninstalled, rather than downloading the Game_1to7 file, I just replaced my original backup into the Tera folder and then downloaded the Game_7to8 patch, but the problem persists. So the point is that there are still people waiting for a fix. Not everyone can redownload 20 GB unfortunately. Just throwing that out there.

The way En Masse describes the solution is a little overboard, this is what I did to fix my checksum error.

1. When you download Game_7to8.rar, you must extract that .rar file to a separate folder.
2. Inside the new folder you will have a Game_7to8.zip file along with ten other files named .z01, .z02 etc.
3. Now extract the Game_7to8.zip file into your TERA install location.
Run the launcher, it will download a small update and you're done.

I hope this helps someone, as I was extracting the .rar file into my TERA folder instead of the .zip.

The problem with the steps they give starts at step 1: Uninstall tera. Of course if you do that, you WILL have to download the whole game over, 20+gb worth.

NOW they have 7-8 as a seperate download. They didn't at the start of the problem, which forced people to redownload the whole game for no reason.

If you are currently having the issue with downloading 7-8, don't unistall your game. just download the 7-8 from there, unzip it (twice) into tera folder as InSpectre says, then run your launcher.
