I don't care how many people fall into that category. If their desire to play Tera is so fragile they weren't going to stay very long no matter what, and it doesn't bother me in the slightest if they take off early, nor should it you.

With business savvy like that, EME should totally hire you (with the intention of letting you be headhunted by NCSoft so you can destroy the company from within, I mean).

It's a buyers market. There are a LOT of MMOs out there, many of them a lot of people are happy with, but WOULD be happier with Tera, only they'll never know that because Tera takes too long to show them the cornerstone of the game, BAM fights.

The questing? It sucks golf balls through a garden hose, it's so bad.

The storyline? lawl.

The regular monsters? WoW's mobs are more dangerous, even at level 10. Even in WoW, pull an extra mob or two and you can die. Tera? Pull the entire friggin' ZONE and you'll still be fine...

The game can't keep saying "Wait for it, wait for it..." for 20 goddamn levels. If 15 levels have gone by and the game has been OBNOXIOUSLY boring, why would anyone think it's going to become better later on?

If these people got to fight ONE friggin' BAM, they'd be sold, just like I was, just like my fiancee was. I love BAM fights. I love BAM fights so much I registered fraps just to take videos of them. I love them so much I pushed this game hard as possible on everyone I know. I love them so much I sprung for the CE to get the lion mount so I can ride in style...ON MY WAY TO BAM FIGHTS!!!

Tera has so much awesome in it. It's just a shame it won't let you experience it until most players have lapsed into comas from boredom...

It's a bit easy at first but around 30ish it starts to pick up from what I've noticed. Wait till about 40+ I hear that's where it gets fun.

If this is sarcasm, well played. If not...

If a game isn't going to show you ~level 10 how it is that you can die if you're not careful and doesn't deign to challenge you worth a damn, most people are going to assume the boredom train runs all night and they're going to leap off of it.

And the sad part is that EME could've had them subbed for LIFE, had they just fought one REAL BAM.

I'm going to go on record and say that the first bam i fought wasnt really that hard. the basilisk was a bit too easy....they don't really draw me to the game so much as the exploration and quirky things like pet shops and people using lances. The atmosphere of the game? but i would definitely say the game is way to easy. kind of sucks i can get to half level cap in about 3 days. I imagine that will even out once content gets closer to lvl 100 in expansions and such.

If Karasche wasn't impressive, buh-bye. Most people that fought him were impressed... provided they did it solo first, or weren't in the most stellar group.

Second, haven't played WoW in a while, have you? Even the first 10 levels are now easy to the point where an add won't decimate you. Further, those other MMO's work in the opposite direction: they actually get easier (in the open world) as you level simply because of gear and other power-up features (like talents.)

Let's stop talking like everyone is bored to death of TERA for the first 20 levels. The complaints are actually fairly few. There are more topics on dyes, enchanting, and Elin pants.

What class did you play? I can see why it'd be easy for a lancer, but it's a blast with a warrior tank.

Also, while it wasn't ridiculously hard, it was the first thing in the game that was even remotely challenging and at least showed us the potential of what the combat system can offer when pitted against a REAL enemy.

I'd agree, except that I've had to reassure pretty much everyone I've brought in to play Tera (12 people) that the game gets good at 20 and to keep playing.

12 people YOU know, and I would expect them to be up to par with your level of skill if YOU know them.

Unfortunately, you don't know 250,000 people.

I'm a lancer yes. though i have died a few times prior to lvl 20 and beyond. its not that hard to die, but i think it might have been breaking bad wow habits.

You're right: I need to get out there and REALLY start making some new friends...

I just felt like I plowed through the 1-19 content completely unabated and unchallenged (and uninterested in the quest storylines).

I'd rather be wrong here, but I still think some mini-BAMs on IoD would be a good idea (even if all players want to do is WATCH others fight them).

This is actually my main gripe with the difficulty in the game. Some additional BAMs between say 10 and 20 would be great, but that still doesn't address the fact that general open world mobs you spend the bulk of your time killing are mind-numbingly unchallenging, and like most tasks in life that lack challenge, repetition quickly leads to boredom.

A classic example: The new mine area. On entering the mines for the first time, I felt a real sense of danger and adventure. I expected to see groups of players and the occasional skilled solo adventurer battling against hoards of dangerous creatures as they struggled to push deeper an deeper, seeking greater and greater rewards. Instead, the mobs proved to be nothing more than a minor annoyance. Before long, unless I was required to kill them for a quest, I gave up fighting them, and just ran past them all until I got where I needed to go.

And that's just it. At the moment the general open-world mobs feel like they're just glorified training dummies. When you get knocked down, instead of being all like "oh crap! this is going to hurt", it's more like "god dammit, this is now officially taking too long". Because of this, the general open-world PvE in TERA relies on the quests to deliver all the fun, and as we all know, the quests are balls.
