Piss off, troll.

/pat

Just learn to play and you won't have to act like this. I mean honestly....

Err, uh, what?

Roadblock?

The BAM you fight during the prologue has its attacks slowed down considerably and is tanked for you, and the prologue threw numerous cannon fodder enemies at you for you to test your attacks on them.

How is that any sort of block?

Seriously. It's like he didn't pay attention at all. Bad players blame the game, what can you do?

People who refer to themselves in the third person should be immediately ignored and not taken seriously.

Anyways on the topic of the post, its just a glimpse of what your character will play like and the skills you will have at level 20, its not a big deal. If you aren't intelligent enough to figure out how to skip it, or just play through it, you have bigger problems than a 10 minute prologue.

Giving you a sandbox to try out your classes Lvl 20 abilities against a bunch of weak mobs before throwing you into a battle with a BAM that can 2-shot you doesn't equate to an introduction, especially for a game that is so uniquely different from every other MMO on the market. The Prologue is a sandbox for experienced players to test out new classes. As a learning tool for new players who aren't familiar with the game mechanics or controls yet, it's just a pain in the [filtered] that they have to slog through.

Let me ask you, were you in closed beta? Did you play through the Island of Dawn before the Prologue was introduced? If so, you're really not qualified to comment. I didn't. I started in open beta. The Prologue was literally my first impression of TERA, and I can tell you that the experience was neither educational nor enjoyable. The Island of Dawn was educational and enjoyable. The Island of Dawn was were I learned how to best use my abilities and fine-tuned how to block and dodge attacks. Only after playing through the Island of Dawn can I go back on new characters and know what the heck I'm doing in the Prologue. Because the Prologue doesn't teach the basics. It's like being thrown into Advanced Calculus before you've even taken Algebra 101.

I didn't play any beta Keiichi, you have no excuse.

Lol @ advanced calculus! You ignored the lessons it was teaching you, that is your fault.

Not sure if this was said anywhere, big thread. You can create a char, login, delete it, make a new one and get the choice to skip it.

Keiichi81 is either a troll or just plain stupid.

It does say several times to take the time to read over your skills to see what they do before heading out.

I have always believed that tutorials belong "out of game". You run a tutorial to the point where you know how to click and move and attack and loot, then you go to the character selection screen and enter the world.

(Now, given that, vanilla WOW was so simple and streamlined, it handled a brief seamless tutorial in-game. Maybe TERA should take a chapter from that.)

If someone was honestly going to quit only after playing 20 minutes into the game. That's fine we don't need you.

No, any MMORPG needs every paying (and behaving) customer it can get. Could be the intro works better overseas than in North American. I found it jarring and was glad it was only a once-through. The devs need to fix this, I think.

The only thing making me think about quitting this game is the bull[filtered] of me not being able to log in due to it stating my account has expired even though I picked the, "renew my fee every month" option...
