Oh look, this thread. I've heard nothing but positive about the prologue. I kind of enjoyed it the first time through myself, and actually went through it on each of my alts to see if I'd even like playing each of the classes since I only tried 3-4 of them back in beta, and now that the game is out I can actually play all of them.
If people quit because of the prologue, then they can go back to bashing their face into their keyboards to increase their numbers on a never ending assembly line of gear and raid queues.
The eight or so skills you get in the prologue is not too many, reading the descriptions of each tells you exactly what you need to know about them, and if any of the fights are too hard it's because you have no idea what you're doing - As it should be. I hate games that babysit you every step of the way and I love it that this game just throws a boss in your face right in the (optional after your first character) prologue, even better that it's one that will easily kill you if you don't know what you're doing.
Daish is like mundo if he dosn't say his name he will forget it.
i don't get how you guys hate the prologue is easy like any game is when you frist start playing it.
This game has a different game play then most mmo out there which makes this game realy fun to play a mmo and think you get what the class full potential in the frist 5 mins of a game makes me lol.
The prologue is not perfect but it give you a chance to play all classes at lvl 20 take advantage of that and have fun.
Btw what mad the prologue confusing or frustrating?
Created a new character on a new server, logged in and saw the prologue. Logged out immediately. Re logged and it gives me an option to skip the prologue. So.. WIN!
I happen to know of one person that decided against buying/playing Tera due to the confusing prologue during OBT. I also have a friend that could not adjust to the combat style during CBT and she even pre-ordered it blind. My brother jumped on Tera during OBT and was confused about starting at lvl 20.. I didn't warn him.. But he persevered and loves it, as I do.
So Daish does have a point. the UI is different enough that the slower pace of the island is a better starting point for someone brand new. Let the prologue ve available fir subsequent alts to get a feel for lvl gameplay... IMO
I found the prologue to be mind numbingly boring. If relogging gets me out of it, I will surely do so if I ever roll on a new server.
Reading skills is pretty frustrating, after all, I only have a rudimentary understanding of how to read English, and I grew up in `Merica. Maybe that `splains it!
Why should I be expected to figure out how more than two skills work at one time? That kind of logic is so complex, I think only a bear could figure it out, and where I live, most people can't even compete with a bear in an IQ test! That's just unreasonable!
I didn't find the Prologue to be a refreshing change of pace that allowed me to see a glimpse of my class before I reached level 20, unlike most games, it was in-fact, a complex, confusing experience, because I have a low-functioning mind and two pieces of info at a time confuse me. The prologue musta had at least 4 comin at me at once!
Some people say that humanity is so dumb that no matter how low you try to stoop to meet the lowest common denominator, you'll still find idiots that can't handle it, but that can't be true, because 90% of games are too complex for me to even understand their tutorials! I's jus smarter'an that.
