Hello TERA community! My name is Evan "Scapes" Berman and I am the Senior Community Manager here at En Masse Entertainment. Here is a brief background blurb about me originally penned many moons ago:

"Evan began his gamer life with an Apple IIC playing memorable two-tone titles held on floppy floppies. First embarking online while ISPs still charged per minute and Geocities was Facebook, it was only natural that his love of multiplayer would later translate into a position at Flagship Studios, taking him away from advertising firm Crispin Porter + Bogusky and across the nation to join a new industry. Originally a Hellgate: London fansite operator, he used his official role of Community Manager to liaise between players and developers for the improvement of the game. Most recently, he explored the free-to-play realm, participating in the launch of THQ*ICE’s Dragonica Online and championing its social media outreach. He is elated to be a member of the En Masse Entertainment powerhouse working on an MMORPG as beautiful and immersive as TERA."

Feel free to follow my personal account on Twitter at @Scapes.

As a person who program's I'll field this question.

Computer Science in college. A programing trade school maybe fine too if you only want programming skills and not system design skills. If you want to limit yourself to only game development, there are actually colleges like Full Sail which strictly do multimedia curriculum.

Computer Science is actually a science and much more broad in scope. Takes math and understanding of how and why computers work as they do and understanding how to approach problems to get the most effective output for the task at hand. I'll say this much though, the real computer science doesn't really start until you can take Graduate level courses. They may teach elementary system design in undergraduate courses, but rarely fun things like image recognition.
